I'm still enjoying the game, but I have more questions. 1. Is it a bad idea to give a monster (or Dark Lord) more than one active skill? One guide in this forum suggested that active skills will just rotate, meaning that if you add a second active skill, the first active skill won't proc as often. Is that true? Or are more active skills always better than fewer? (Obviously more passive skills are generally better than fewer.) 2. When upgrading the Dark Lord with a sacrificed monster who has several skills, which skill gets transferred to the Dark Lord? It seems random: sometimes the lowest skill on the list, sometimes not. Is the only way to be sure which skill is transferred to sacrifice a monster with just two skills? (I.e., to choose a monster with its inherent skill plus the skill you wish to transfer.) 3. Do the rules of the fight change for the D100 boss battle? I see some text in the lower-right suggesting as much. 4. In general, what skills are best for a Dark Lord? Thanks!
1.You can give them multiple ones, it will only slightly lower the odds of it activating, so if you have a skill that absolutely needs to activate as often as possible, don´t give them multiple active skills (except if it is the same skill) 2.Its random for monsters that have more than 2 skills, for those with 2 skills as you said, you will always get the one that is inhertiable (aka the 2nd skill) 3. The boss rooms always have buffs on heroes or debuffs on your monsters/Lord 4. Everything passive, later on, nothing will enter your room, and if stuff enters your room there is a 99% chance that you die, regardless of what you have (there are units that take your armor, shield, regen and hit you in your face with it, or that remove immortality etc. and they in general do hundreds or thousands or more dmg per attack) basically, in 99% of cases you die (and i consider everything before day 340 as absoulte early game, or in other words, pre day 340 units can probably get to your DL room and you might survive, afterwards it depends on what enters your room, if its the wrong unit it can kill your DL casually in 1 attack, regardless of what you have stacked)
[Notice from Dev] Problems with cloud functionality since version 1.5.x We apologize for any inconvenience caused by fatal errors. We are constantly investigating issues that arise from cloud functionality. We are working on this. First of all, users whose Dark Stone is marked as minus(-) due to the cloud should stop playing until the problem is resolved. The new update is great! I’ve only had a few days to play it but his game is one that I will be playing a lot and for a long time
DuMa 1.5.1: Corrupted Patch / Torture Megathread! All questions go here! (by @Metalmine ) 1.5.x Megathread Hello everyone, as there are a lot of errant questions and such let's get em all here. I'll try to compile an FAQ as the thread goes on as well. FAQ Q: Why can't I corrupt my tortured units that I can see? A: Did you collect enough souls? Do you have enough souls? Q: What does D-<insert number here> mean? A: That's the number of days it takes to torture a hero using that tool. Q: What is a World? Each 20 days in this game is now officially called a World. (i.e. World 1 / World 2 ...) Q: What is a prisoner room? A: It holds prisoners of heroes that you have captured for... future experimentation muahaha. Q: Why can't I get any souls? It says 0/0 If you got the patch mid-run or started a new game and lost your altar for any reason, it's because you have no where to hold souls. If you are mid-run, you are likely to find an altar as a reward at some point. Q: What is this black market? A: Black market comes with 3 functions: Tribute, Convert, and Sacrifice Tribute: This allows you to turn one of your favorite monsters or corrupted heroes into an equipment orb that has that monsters' base level 1 stats and their innate skill. For example, if I turn a goblin into an orb, it will be a 40 LIFE, 4ATk, 1 DEF orb with Loot Collection(D) and I can put that on another creature. Convert: If you have a hero with a low% and enough souls, you can convert them into a corrupted hero unit that you can place in your dungeon! Sacrifice: If you still have space in your altar, meaning if you can still collect more souls, you can sacrifice captured units here and turn them into souls to use later. Q: What is this new torture option in Dungeons? A: It allows you to literally torture a captured hero so that they become easier to convert to a corrupted hero. Q: What's the difference between all these tools? A: Just as farmers hate to starve, wizards hate to get burned from their own mana. Some tools just work better than others on each unit. Q: Why did my conversion turn the hero into a monster? A: Probably because the rate of conversion isn't good enough. The % you see on selecting a unit to convert is the failure rate. the lower the better basically. Q: Can you succeed the prison/altar? A: No you cannot. Q: Can you succeed the corrupted heroes? A: Yes you can. Priorities Q: How to prioritize this patch? A: Priorities are weird this patch, generally speaking from my 5 runs so far, prioritize getting 2 corrupted units, probably 2 elite villagers. but any of the 1*s are good as they will cost 100 and 110 souls each. make sure you move the altar to 1 away from the entrance (where I assume you'll get most of your kills) and put the prison as far back as possible. Once you have those two, play as normal but focus on the rooms necessary to upgrade the prison to prison level 3 at least, then you can start collecting better units. As you do so, upgrade your altar to altar 4 asap. once you do, you'll be able to build the end game units. Outside of that, play as you would usually play. Obviously, you can't do this on Marielle, but you CAN bring in good units from your saved units to do this. Probably ones that give dullification. Known Quality of Life Changes Positive Changes: Cleaner Menu New Images for Dungeon rooms Minimap of the current "World" Negative Changes: No more number display on relic icon indicating how many relics you have No more number display on fusion scroll icon indicating how many fusions/ special upgrades you have possible at any given time Known Bugs / Exploits Title screen reset glitch to re-roll relics in the early game. On update, you may see your rebirth level at 1 and negative gems. But THIS IS FIXED in the 1.5.2 patch Trial challenge cards you have previously selected may at times not be shown. + You can see a lot more here : https://www.reddit.com/r/DungeonMaker/comments/9i0vlr/duma_151_corrupted_patch_torture_megathread_all/
Omg, I'm on day 300 and something and I just realized you can craft upgraded prison/altars. I was thinking the prison was beyond useless, now it makes more sense...
Can you use Tribute to turn a 6-star monster like Fairy into an equipment, and then craft another Fairy?
Yes you can turn them into orbs and afterwards fusion them again, so you can have multiple 6* monster effects on different units, which is why its probably more worth to succed heroes (because they are harder to get) and just fuse the fusion monsters on the fly (and perhaps get multiple fusion monster orbs on units)
Nice. That opens the door for some crazy stuff... A single Fairy can keep the whole dungeon alive in the right setup, I can't imagine what multiple Fairy effects would look like. So many shields. Time to look at all of the 6* monsters with a fresh perspective...
I tried to do some testing to figure out exactly how the new goblin ability works: Loot Collection Get 1 Gold every time an enemy is killed at 30 % chance. ... but I couldn't find anything very conclusive. The only thing I know for sure is that the nerf is a big one - in the most extreme setup (70% of my monsters were goblins), the benefits weren't that big. Has anyone heard an explanation of exactly how it works yet?
Pretty sure that a goblin (or a monster with goblin orb on it) has a 30% chance upon killing a enemy to give you 1 gold, so its a HUGE nerf
I've added one monster slot to my Dark Lord's room. But now I have an option to buy another unlock that says "Add Dark Room Guardian" and "the number increases to 1." If I buy this unlock again, will I have two slots in the Dark Lord's room? (If so, the card should read "the number increases by 1".) Or still only one slot (in which case buying a second unlock is a waste)?
Yeah, you can put another monster into the darklords room with the upgrade, it should say "number increases by 1"
Thanks for your quick reply to my question, xovero. (And thanks for replying so quickly to my earlier questions! You're awesome.) So now I have to decide how important it is to spend an unlock on a second guardian for my Dark Lord. Your earlier comments suggest that at some point, the Dark Lord will be one-shotted if anything gets into her room. I'm not at that point yet; I'm still working on Hard level 5. But your comment about one-shotting makes me think the second guardian might not be a high priority.
Yeh, massive nerf to our green gold diggers, and I’m not sure why to be honest. Also, Lizardmen seem a lot less effective now, which is a real shame. I was really enjoying the shield bash/regen steel combo. Were There any other nerfs to monsters? I managed to corrupt a couple of villagers on my last run and they have some nice stats for very little investment. At the moment I’m trying to corrupt a bezerker but they seem to resist my charms....... On the whole I do like the patch especially as the whole dungeon management mechanic has changed somewhat. It’s quite a juggling act now. But the one huge thing for me is that mini map. Brilliant. Now you can see where to aim for, go left, stay straight, it makes planning your route more strategic.
I currently have 4 monsters in the Dark Lords room. The more the merrier. Get Dryanid in there ASAP as her healing rain will save your lord and then get some meatshields, one with high defence and wearing taunt.....so important. The obligatory mystic one should be on all your mobs in the DL room also. So, yes, get the extra guardian.
