The first one was a Diablo clone. You just decribed Diablo, by the way. Tapfest and pure hack n slash are essentially the same thing. Inventory sorting is the same as loot fest. Those basic elements go to the very core of what Diablo is. And for people who enjoy Diablo, or the Action-RPG, dungeon-crawling, hack n slash genre, it's anything but a disappointment. It is exactly what they expect. What must disappoint you is the genre itself, which is fine. Dungeon Hunter was very well recieved at the time of its original release. It was even well-recieved by several harsh Gameloft critics. At the time, it was widely regarded as Gameloft's best effort to date. Disappointing is a word that few people, if any, used back then to describe it.
You make a couple of good points, but you were completely discredited when you even implied that Dungeon hunter was as good as Diablo.
NOTHING is as good as Diablo II. Why? Why after a decade has no one even come close to this amazing game?
Maybe because Blizzard takes a decade to finish a game. I enjoyed Dungeon Hunter - it was definitely a step in the right direction, and hopefully the sequel will have a lot more meat on its bones. (off topic - can't wait for Diablo III on the puter).
How about Torchlight? I thought that pretty much sits right between DiabloII and DiabloIII... and Torchlight 2 just around the corner looks even better.
TL is single player only and just isn't quite the same feel. Doesn't have synergies, runewords, builds really.
Yes Saw that And he was invited to play it with someone... was it already known info that DH2 was going to have co-op play? Pretty cool.
Oh it's Dunge...unter. Seriously, even if they just fixed the name truncation, I'd be interested . The iPad version went with 'Dungeon', and surely it has more room for the full name; oh well, it still goes along with Castl...fmagic. Oh yeah, better graphics, new game, bonus! If they can get that right.
according to Pocketgamer on Twitter PocketGamer: Angry Birds, Real Racing and Dungeon Hunter 2 will be launch games for Game Center: Focus on multiplayer http://bit.ly/dwQyQx about 1 hour ago via twitterfeed looks like we'll be seeing DH2 next week (hopefully)
If this is a Game Center launch title then I suppose this means iPad users will have to wait for the iPad version till November at least.
If I like Diablo will I like this also will it include retina display graphics. also any price been confirmed
if you like diablo 2, then yes you will also like this. It's a hack n slash lootfest. It should have co-op play, and I'm willing to be all my forum gold on d2jsp that itll have retina display. All i'm hoping for now is randomized dungeons and more difficulty levels as the first one was pretty short.
