No problem, always a pleasure. And we'll keep that potion part between us, can't let that get tweaked. If you hit anything down the road with it, let em know. I'm sure they'll take your feedback seriously and I'm pretty sure a very nice person from Canada will be watching in here and passing on the relevant stuff to the dev team.
Game Impressions I wonder if there is any developer-side benefit to squeezing card-based representation into non-CCGs/deckbuilders, and if it actually increases the appeal of the game to the target audience. The apparent rise in card elements (even in DH5, where it serves no mechanical purpose, and is just a less immersive way to present items and minions) after the advent of Hearthstone suggests to me devs are hoping it will. Combat is where DH5 falls on its sword for me. The presence of a dodge button suggested some twitch appeal, but I've only ever used it to effect against a minority of boss attacks. The rest of the time, the battles quickly become a mindless slog through faceless hordes of enemies, with neither noticeable tactical depth or reflex- and precision-based skill. (I've never been pals with Diablo-esque combat, but Victor Vran demonstrated to me just how fun the isometric action-RPG genre can be, and how much the presence of battle mechanics based on precision, mobility and reflexes, in tandem with tactical use of skill, can add to the leveling, looting and exploring.) It's a shame, for this is a beautiful, polished, persistent framework of a game. But in between the frames is merely fluff and filler. This was the primary reason I downloaded the game, as a casual and less involved recess from co-op:ing Baldur's Gate for iOS with a pal (my favourite gaming hobby right now). There really is no synchronous, live co-op in DH5, even further into the very gated storyline and related unlocking of features?
Paying 7 gems per potion is rough. I like the games that give you a free 1-3 per level and anymore cost. There are already payments needed for stamina gems etc eventually so to charge premium currency for the most common item used in any RPG just drives me nuts. I've burnt 24 gems now on a death and 2 paid potions If someone can share how to get free potions I'll be indebted
Maybe it's something I'm doing, but the ally that I pick to do missions with me, really is just another body on the screen, he randomly teleports on and off the screen and at times I notice him vigorously attacking the wall.... Sometimes he just isn't there? Do I need to do something to send commands at him or is it all AI?
Needs an internet connection to play, which is bad enough but hasn't connected to server all day when I tried. Saved me a disappointment I guess. Uninstalled....
I fully understand that freemium does exist, and all we can do accept them or ignore them. Accepting its existence doesnt mean you cant complain about them. It's like being given a very difficult task by your boss, you can complain, but you know you have to complete it. For a game that throws loot at you like christmas, asking for you to pay $1 for a slot is just too much.
Played a bit, and so far i'm very pleased about two things : 1) impressive graphics and animation and 2) that the CoC aspect DOESNT take away from your loot, as i feared it would. Some questions for anyone who played more: 1)Do the stats matter more, or the elements? I have no idea to fuse or to keep items because of this, and my inventory is filling up. 2)Is it possible to send energy between friends, like they did in Spiderman Unlimited? 3)Many times the camera is too zoomed, and i can't see who is shooting at me and from where. Can this change somehow? So far it seems really good, and i'm even considering the 5$ iap, especially if points 2 and 3 can be worked around. I could see it as my 3rd gameloft game i enjoyed, after SpidermanUNLT and MC5.
The thing is if they threw loot at you that was worth a dang thats a different story. Instead they throw a bunch of crap at you to make you fuse it which costs gold. I wish better stuff dropped right off the bat rather than nickel and dime it. Thats the real fun in loot games is finding something awesome that helps you clear harder difficulty levels and such.
Yeah. Im actualyl struggling managing only 7 slots for stuff im going to use for fusion. I have 6 items equipped, and i have 7 minions in my stronghold, and a few evolve materials and fusion boosters that total up to 23. LOL
You don't get a level 100 sword in Diablo when you are level 10, I don't know why this is any different? Every single RPG I ever played start you off with crap loot, and you get top loot when you complete end game contents, how is this different? As for inventory slots, most of the crap gear you get are meant to be sold, fused etc, paying for inventory slot is once again, standard in billion dollar franchises like Puzzles and Dragons. If Gameloft follows suit you should be able to get gifts over time to boost inventory slots for free even if you don't want to pay.
Thats not true. In Diablo even at level 10 you can find awesome equipment without fusing anything. Its not about the level of the item its the rarity that made it strong even at say level 10.
There's a thread in the general section to moan about freemiun. I don't like freemium much either. But derailing every freemium thread with the usual anti-freemium arguing gets boring
Dont get me wrong I like the game as it really keeps me entertained just wish the loot dropped was a bit more meaningful you know?
Everytime I see a purple named item drop, I think, woohoo epic item, but only a one star item of dark element properties.... Popular item coloring has mind controlled me
