Understandable, i'm not a free player myself but I can understand the frustration and that a lot of free players might quit after this. This was a very very greedy move by this company. Definatly a losing move.
Just got a 3 star weapon off a gem chest pull which is good because I can evolve it to a 5 star weapon right!?!?
I'd say 90% of the 3 stars you get from a chest you can evolve to 5. I once got a 3 star from a gem chest that couldnt be evolved though. But you can check if you go to Evolve and if the item is not greyed out - then it can be evolved.
Thanks for the update. This means I won't only focus on the weeklong event as those items aren't really worth it to me if capped. I will get the gems and move along, grabbing some other dailies where it makes sense. I still have some 2* items that I need to evolve to 3* and I wasn't getting the ancient tokens.
Agreed. This and P&D is very different in freemium aspects. I don't think you can even compare them. In other news I've decided to do the evo material event today instead of the gear event. I also got the materials yesterday. Good news! Tomorrows event will allow me enough materials to evolve one of my expensive 3*s into a 4*! I'll just need 100k gold after I obtain tomorrow's materials. Do I evolve my armor or weapon tomorrow? Armor is good but has crossbow DMG % (fire) although I don't use crossbow. or my badass glaive (which I love) Which to evolve , opinions ?
They are both important but if I had to choose I would say weapon. Or maybe armor to allow you to absord 1 more hit so you can swing 1 more time. See it kind of goes hand in hand I wouldnt sweat which you do first.
Hmm... I just noticed that the belt you can get in mission 4 hard(Darkness Spread) can evolve to at least 4. I assume nothing stops at 4 though, so 5...? Come to think of it, that's the only belt I've ever seen.
This event should be good news for free players, not because of the 3* gear you can win, but because of the gems you can earn. When you hit 4000 victory points, which is doable for free players. You'll get a total of 15 gem. Now we can almost be certain, that more events will take place in the future, and based on this event, giving you more opportunities to get free gems. Once you get 50, you can than of course open a gem box. Although all the ones I opened only gave me 3 stars, they can all be evolved to 5 stars. So I'm still satisfied with this.
I checked the wiki on several items, and from what I found so far, all items that can be evolved to 4 stars, can indeed further be evolved to 5 stars. Except for armor and weapons, many of the skill items you find for free, can be evolved to 5 stars.
Check the wiki to be sure, but I'm almost 100% certain, that you can evolve it to 5 stars, and congratz!

No it goes to 5 because it's a skill. Just confirmed on the wiki too. And role = whole. Damn Swype autocorrect!
Currently at 4k points with the loot event. I'll def be able to get the 16k prize. I want it because my build is fire. I can only do it on hard though. I keep getting owned lm expert lol. So I'm assuming that gear is 4*. Although the gear at 65k points looks insane. I'd love to get it. Buttt I can only do hard and that's 130 times playing hard which can't be done it 4 days haha. & no problem houseofg glad! Glad I could be of service Edit: Just read a few pages back. Those items are 3*?! The visuals look like 4* equipment. Such a shame.
