Well, on the bright side, we get to play some good games for a couple of hours for free. But, yeah...
Im at the end of the game and I only bought the third gem box. Dont know how much that one is in $. And I have half of the gems still left. Played about 20 hours.
Wow - no wonder they keep churning out this freemium sh*te. That's the equivalent of my kids, Christmas presents each. Ouch!
Finished the game There is an elite difficulty on the coop maps after that but no better items then the tier 47 that you can craft or tier 49 that you can buy for gems
Hi guys, been playing a while, here are some of the ways to get free gems that I found. With those I have been able to upgrade my inventory slots for free, that is the only thing you really need to pay for so far, along with maybe a ring. There is a challenge to complete the Wargame Academy this weeked that gives you 5 gems. If you do it with the tier 10 gold weapon you also get a level 5 charm. If you play a 5 minutes PvP match you get 2 Gems if you finish first, 1 Gem for other players If you play the free daily Wheel of Fate thing, from the world map, sometimes 10 Gems will show up as a price. Worth checking since Charm of the Bandits (life leech) and + mana per hit charms show up as well. Plus the Freem Gem button in the IAP section
Here's a little perspective: According to the U.S. Bureau of Labour Statistics Charts, in 2009, the average American family spent $6,443 annually on groceries, that comes out to $123.90 a week for groceries According to the United Nations' International Labor Organization (ILO), the countries with the lowest monthly income in 2012 were: Tajikistan $227, Pakistan $255, Phillipines $279
$120? Uhm... remind me not to tell you what I've spent on Chaos & Order Online in the last 2 years. In my first months of iOS gaming, I think I've spent 80-100 bucks per month on iOS games. But yeah, $120 go fast in a freemium game with IAPs. An online buddy of mine spent nearly $600 in the last four months on Clash of Clans, Blood Brothers and two other games, iirc. You also should check the HayDay forums all over the net. The amounts of money spent on this could easily save Greece, I assume. Read this and tell me again that $120 are much: http://forum.supercell.net/showthread.php/827-How-much-money-have-you-spent-on-this-game $6000 to max out everything in HayDay, holey moley.
Horrendous isn't it. I can't believe this freemium model works, but obviously it has to or publishers would stop pushing it. Tragic that people are essentially willing to literally consume cash for fun. Oh wait, gambling has been around for ages. Maybe we should start a support group for dopes who dump cash on this trash. Ps. By grinding effectively (fighting in the highest available area without using potions, dying appears to have no cash or experience cost) I've been able to get relatively far without spending a dime. When I stop enjoying the fighting I'll delete it, and they'll get nothing from me.
Ok seriously? 8 hours for one potion? Thought it was supposed to be three potions every eight. Can someone explain this madness?
Gameloft honestly disgusts me. Playing this only furthers their model. I hope that decent iOS games make it, and people eventually see through this trash. They treat you like your stupid, why play their games?
