But the arena type areas (that go along with the main quest) can be completed in co-op and it will advance you along the story in single player as well

    Review:

    Gameplay:
-4 Classes featuring male and female
    -Interesting story
    -Online is iffy
    -Controls are weird (to me)

    Visuals:
-Looks really good and the fighting is pretty good looking too
-Cutscenes (movies) aren't my style (painting like, not really HD enough for me)

    Pros:
    -Good graphics
    -Good Storyline
    -Fun
    -Many classes

    Cons:
    -Timers (not toooooo bad)
    -Bad controls
-Fighting can make no sense at times (random thing is running at my sentinal and attacks me before reaching me
    -Lacks features

    Overall: 78/100

So dungeon hunter existed for ps vita. It was crazy expensive so nobody bought it, but that means the engine and such works on vita. Vita also supports free to play games. So gameloft, release this one on the psn for vita. I wants me some buttons.

Want my review? Let's go shorthand.

Dungeon Hunter 4 is exactly what I want out of an iOS RPG. It has a unique (and beautiful) smudged-pastel visual style, reminiscent of the recent release Dishonored. The environments are colorful, and enemies are plentiful. From the get-go, you can select one of four classes to play: a Warrior, Rogue, Mage, and Archer (abridging this). Each one has the expected skills and playstyles, and can take on situations differently. Skills are various, but each one seems to do vaguely the same thing, but with slight changes (for example, the Rogue has a dash attack that launches her forward, and the Mage has a warp attack that does the same thing, but with warping). Exploration is a lot of fun, and the PvE Arenas coming back from 3 is a nice touch; best of both worlds, if I do say so myself.

However, there is trouble in this would-be-wonderful game. As mentioned above, the game is exactly what I want out of an iOS RPG, except for two glaring flaws: the plot (or lack thereof), and the IAP system. Here's DH4: kill kill kill, loot loot loot, hurting, heal, repeat three times, and suddenly you need to wait a couple hours before you get back all your potions. There is no way to buy them with in-game money (as previous titles allowed) - you must fork over two dollars (USD) minimum to be able to buy up to ten potions. That is, provided you're not going to use them for the lottery, buying better equipment than what can drop in the game (which is disgustingly transparent), or skipping the egregious amount of timers for upgrades, removing charms (think Diablo's gems).

You see, Dungeon Hunter 4 has a lot of potential, and it is a fun game. It's just that the game makes you feel like that weird guy on the street corner who pokes your shoulder and asks for a handout. Only now he's offering you stuff during the loading screens, the gameplay itself, and when you access your inventory. He just needs 20 diamonds, first.

Which takes an absurd amount of time to craft... Anything. There's your little ditty on crafting.

Can you put up with Beggar-loft and not being able to progress as quickly as someone who buys all the good gear will?

If so, go for it! Also, complete all the side-missions. They're worth the time. Socket all items, recover all gems, and merge them, too!

Eh, over the weekend I'll aim for some crystal dirks or dragolith blade :p once my character is strong enough, I'll be able to farm one place for days.

Look, I know the IAP in this game SUCKS SO HARD but we have to live with it. The thing is, you only progress slower without IAP. It's not liky DH3 where you need 'keys' to open chests to claim your prize or else you don't and you can buy all the armor with gems and it gets immediately hard so that you can't advance IAP, it's something more like 'Oh, the enemies are starting to get harder. I'll grind a little bit, then come back again to kick their ass. Or I'll buy some potions and new weapons using gems to advance faster IAP.' Or something like 'Oh crap, I'm outta potions, do I grind to where I'm so strong I don't need potions or do I use gems to buy them, OR do I wait?' The wait timers suck sure, but as you're playing they'll be done by then :/ the IAP's are a setback, but what can you do? Not buy them, move on from this or just keep playing.

In all honesty, it's all round profit for them. Just steer clear of these games, RR3 and any others that set bad examples. Unfortunately their marketing scheme is very successful currently.

I'm shocked that DH3 was better. What gives with auto-targeting enemies off the screen? Its like your not even playing.

That's for ranged I'm pretty sure :p DH3, I don't think just no. You need keys to get loot. KEYS MAN. Without keys you can't really progress. This game, NO KEYS. Although the IAP still sucks bad.
