So I am one of those weird people who liked DH3 though still would rather play a crawler like 4. So my question is ; is All my progress and items etc. for 3 tied to my GAMELOFT acct? So I can delete dh3 and free up the space for 4 and still go back if I feel the need and have my progress there? I just have had issues with iCloud (lost about twenty bucks of iap because an auto upload once... Not happy lol) but if I have to use it I will.

I doubt ill even play dh3 again but I am weird when it comes to my nerd points :p

Edit: and what's with all the freemium and "pay wall" crap? I like freemium myself because I can choose what I think the game is worth, but at the same time that is an opinion. The pay wall is silly in my understanding though. You either grind (which any rpg is going to have you do) or throw a couple bucks so you can get a good piece of gear or skill and the debs make money. I've never had a game like this take more than, idk, 3 or 5 bucks US at most to actually have all I need . And if upgrade timers in this are like dh3 then just upgrade before you go to bed or stop playing for the day. The timer keeps going and is done when you hop back on. Idk, my 2 cents.

I think the main reason free to play is games become a revenue stream rather than being capped at a static amount. With free to play and in app purchase more people DL game and a certain amount of players will spend generous amounts of money to unlock certain aspects of the game.

Where a hard capped game price at 6.99 now becomes limitless in theory. Also as the game ages people will still be inclined to download as its free and if that person downloads game and enjoys it will be inclined to spend.

It's been proven in this thread already. "Should I purchase DH 1(2)?" Replies are mostly no, as the game has aged. If that was free to play it would had been downloaded with a greater likely hood of IAP.

Me personally, for IAP to go away I think prices of these games will prob have to be at least starting at 20.00(for big production games). I'd rather them include two releases one with free model and one for full purchases with no IAP, timers, energy bars.

You will lose the items and your progress in both DH3 and DH4 if you uninstall.

Yeah they don't have an online save function for your accounts like Asphalt. Wait Asphalt 7 you can save your data right?

Same here. Until that day comes when mobile gaming becomes a serious platform, I'm done with iOS gaming. I decided today I'm tired of the state of gaming on iOS with it's 40 million platformers, angry birds, and freemium bs.

I've had a great time here at TA though. Best wishes to all of you.

Rangers can roll, Warrior can charge, Blademaster can Dash and Mage can teleport.

I had this same question and couldn't find an answer anywhere online but while playing DH4 a little message appeared saying that this feature would be coming soon. It works great with Heroes of Order and Chaos from what I've seen.

I do agree that things get messy when you hit a pay wall. Not sure how true that is as I have yet to dive into the game. However as developers spend a lot more time and resources on games now, something has to give. And that's my whole point. Trust me I don't like it either. But I garauntee they put a lot more effort into this than the first two games(IAP aside) as do many other devs in their latest titles. There is no doubt if they then made this a $10 or more game people would be whining like crazy about one tiny thing they don't like. Personally I think they should just make the game a free demo with a one time unlock purchase. But obviously this model is working. Plus I feel a lot of this only affects gamers who really do suck sorry to say. I sunk 10 bucks into Real Racing 3 to support the devs not because I was out of coins because I thought it was worth it.

Gone off Gameloft games. I always find they lag a lot. They try and cram too high resolution graphics on the assumption that eye candy sells and I found that to be very true. It's all a marketing ploy but many of their games lag terribly so I avoid Gameloft.

They used to put out decent balanced games but not anymore.

From the time I have spent with this game, IMO, if this was a flat out purchase on my behalf with zero IAP, timers, dual curancy this game would be flat out amazing for a mobile platform. Great loot, awesome weapons(with buffs-that can proc), upgradable gear with stat modifiers, leveling, skill trees, varying fun class's it's a rpg geek heaven.

How it stands now I feel for me to fully enjoy the game I will be nickel and dimed to a pretty high dollar amount withOUT an end it sight. Even if it had IAP that once you reached a threshold in dollars spent the entire game opened up to me with the game being released from its present state is be happy. As it stands now I can't fully enjoy the game because it won't be fully accessible to me.

It's a shame because its a fantastic game.

Quick question. I can't be bothered with timers and potions and all that so which weapon should I buy that will ensure I can complete the game with absolutely zero challenge or enjoyment?

Has anyone gotten pretty far and not had to use IAP? Do we know or seen anyone in the high level range yet?

Is there a way to see your character stats except Health Energy and DPS? I think I remember seeing crit chance % somewhere, but can't find it anymore.

Agree with most of what was said here:
Graphics look good, story could be interesting (only like 30 minutes into the game, so cannot judge yet).
The "in your face" IAP, timers etc. are bloody annoying. Let me shell out 10-15 bucks for this, without all those unsubtle hints to drop cash on IAP.

What annoys me the the most, and was not mentioned here before:
Why the heck do I need an internet connection to upgrade items? This is ridiculous, for an offline singleplayer game.

@CMMC: Would appreciate an explanation for that. And even more, if you can pass this on to your developers to get rid of the forced online asap.
Not to mention the "premium version" quite some people want to have. Get that underway, too, while you are at it (just kidding ;) fairly sure this is not going to happen. But then you never know... )

Just got past it at level 10. I upgraded most of my items twice and added 2 gems to them. Kept attacking the boss without stopping (so it cannot heal) and managed to finish him off without any potions.

Waiting for some answers. Once I get them, I'll post them here. I'm still not fully integrated into the DH4 team yet, so I don't have answers on hand :(

Unfortunately, most reports seem to indicate that the vast majority of iOS gamers ARE happy with timers and IAP, at least enough to both play freemium titles, and invest in consumables, timer removals and paywall teardowns.

(While there are tons of freemium games in which to study this effect, Real Racing 3 makes for a very poignant example: the TA thread during the Canada release was brimming with prophecies of the game's imminent doom upon international release, because of the timers and freemium limitations. The game went on to become a massive success, according to Firemonkeys.

And, strangely enough, it seems that some of the loudest detractors are still actively playing the game... ;) )

We, the passionate TA elite, are probably just not a very representative sample of the mobile gaming population. I like to think that we are just particular about the entertainment we choose.

But perhaps we are just whiny bitches ;)

For two reasons. Some just aren't "gamers", they're people who bought iPhone and noticed they can play games on it. The others are young, broke and greedy.

The people who are most annoyed with this terrible trend are the ones who have gotten used to the gaming quality of the past. Luckily, some developers belong to this group and still provide games as they should be.
