Any ideas on what level or parameters are required to gain access to purchase tier 57 and above gear?
Try putting it on a junk weapon or armor and sell it. That's how I got rid of a negative charm when it happened to me.
Have you also heard back from the devs regarding the requirements for shop gear? I'm level 79 now, but highest level gear in the shop is Bramble (tier 71). Has been like this since I was level 48 or so.
The level 100 weapon only appears in the crafting section and NOT in the shop. Just clear eternal battles up to wave 40 and weapons up to lvl 97 appears in the SHOP regardless of your level. I bought level 97 items when I was at level 40. Lol I think this has been discussed many times in this thread previously. Please read up the previous pages.
For gear above level 57 you it looks there is an unlock at level 56 and then the next one is at level 70. For shop gear you'll need to reach level 84 for the next unlock and then 98 after that according to the information they gave me. I'm just including the level unlocks but you can also get them early if you have beaten certain parts of the story.

Follow, then talk to khiil urd Beat drall the second time at eternal battle, then I got this mission 'follow, then talk to khiil urd' i went back to ancient ruin to talk to khiil urd but nothing happened. It leads me back to void and drall the first all over again. Anyone can help? It's some kind of bugs or i just hv to wait for the next update or that's it, no more quest?

I have read your previous comment on this too, but just as the guy that I quoted in my original question: this doesn't work for me. I am and was long past level 40 in eternal battle. Even did a straight run starting with the level 37 mobs in wave 1 all the way up to defeating Drall (wave 43 or so) in one go to be certain, but that didn't do the trick either.
Thanks Ryan. I'm almost at level 84 but I'm curious now why other people have had higher tier gear in the shop at levels way lower. I have completed the whole story and have all of the other original battle arenas up to Godlike... Could you please ask what the particular event in the story is that should have unlocked the higher tier gear? Thanks.
As thaijun said, for you to be able to unlock items til tier 97, you should beat up til lvl 40 at eternal battle.. true even your at low level. If it doeent work on you for unknown reasons, you should be able to unlock it at 84 as what sir ryan have said. If i wer u, i would go straight to tier 100 items because theres still a big difference between the tier 97 ones when it comes to hp. (PvE wise). Unless, you plan on fixing the shapes of the charm slots and experiment with it like most sentinels wants a majority of circle slots for crit dmg purposes (PvP wise).
They may have completed parts of the story at earlier levels than you did. Unlocking gear in the store can happen by a combination of things. For example you hit X level OR beat X section of the story OR beat X number of waves in an infinite dungeon. Past level 84, the next unlock point is level 98 and that's the highest tear of gear in the shop.

an update is available - 'minor bugs fixed...' just minor?! ... edit: updated and my characther is still there, nothing missing. but cant tell/see what bug was fixed...

Been having same issue myself for some time now. Supposedly a known bug but they've issued two updates since I got stuck with still no fix
