Lol! I typed a whole rant about this earlier on in the thread. Also, a few other ones. Maybe devs should go back to working on buying the full game through IAP. Also, Apple could tighten its anti-piracy from what I hear. But ulimately, I'm not an Apple employee or a dev, so I'm not fully versed in this matter.
^Agree with that, i want to stop piracy on iOS, and i mean at the end of the day games are 69p or £1.99, what the hell are people pirating these cheap games for ?! Not saying its right if a games £40 but you know what i mean But by having games where you unlock the full game by IAP is great and would surely stop piracy.
^Yup Here's an article I posted about piracy earlier on! The comments are where it's at though! http://blog.gameized.com/2011/07/12/the-huge-success-of-an-appstore-failure/
Thing is, I distinctly remember there being an iOS game that simply did not work for pirates. It started up, but then there was some glitch with the game and it would not progress past a certain point. I think there was even a related message to go along with it... It also only worked on pirates, not just jailbroken devices. I don't remember anything else though...
I don't know what game you're talking about, but I was actually in a discussion talking about something like this. I don't remember the discussion exactly and I'm not about to search through all my posts. But he said he made it so that pirated versions filled up with pixels when they tried to play. The good thing about Xbox is that when you use a pirated game, you don't have access to Xbox Live. Madfinger said they're doing something similar with Shadowgun. That if you pirated the game, you won't be able to play multiplayer once it's released.
The new i devices are where game development is headed and from the looks of what i have seen lately Jailbreaking IOS devices is for the most part dead. I am not saying it is not going to happen (that is just stupid to make that kind of claim) but it is not happening at near the rate it used to, so blaming piracy could soon be a thing of the past and hopefully the devs will see this then focus there efforts back developing premium games without the major concern of piracy. iPad 2 for instance got one Jailbreak since it was released and it was a browser exploit and then Comex left the scene to work for Apple. The 4s from what i have read is in limbo as well and there can be tons of people who want it and alot of hype surrounding it but it could take a very long time and there will be multiple IOS updates by then. Apps are for the most part so bloody cheap that buying them is not a huge issue but id be lying if i said that Jailbreaking is not alot of fun when you like to tweak your device and there is alot of that which makes the devices better. It is a doubled edge sword that is for sure.
While I do agree with the piracy discussion, I do believe piracy or no piracy, there is still a HUGE amount of people that like the idea of free+ as evident in the reviews for Six-Guns and even... LG3. Btw, BOTH those games have outstanding ratings so for those who want to bump their 1 star reviews, get ur protest on. Just a heads up. Sarcasm aside, I do think GL should not be ridiculed for providing a game that people want even if it doesn't satisfy everyone. I have expressed my disappointment for things like pulling the previous versions but some things people say are entirely senseles for the sake of complaining. I've written to them by email as well as posted publicly my desire for them to continue releasing premium games. I think this is an appropriate approach as opposed to rage protesting because honestly, the odds are against them listening since they are releasing what a wider audience will download. My humble opinion.
@madman100 I get what you're saying but this is a place to discuss the game. We are allowed to discuss what we do and don't like about, as well as blow off a little steam IMO. Personally, I think GL will do whatever makes them the most money despite the end user's experience; maybe not. Again it's a forum, so why try and shut down people's opinions. If you don't like someones opinion or point if view ignore them or reply tactfully. Also, I live in a world where I like to think I can voice my opinion. If you think it's complaining, so be it. Last I checked, this was a discussion forum.
That's kinda how some of your comments came across. All this is over the internet with only typed words, so sometimes it's easy to misconstrue things. I apologize if that was the case.
Yeah, I can get pretty heated in discussion as I'm only human, but most of my comments stick to the game. The only personal stuff I talk about is "Appstore Vampirism" and it's very real! I see people begging for promo codes and waiting for sales all the time. I'm pretty sure more devs would coin the term if it wouldn't effect their sales. Also, I try to be tactful, but a lot of your posts come off pretty brash or you add comments like "just a bunch of crybabies". Just my thoughts; I might be wrong.
Not sure what that has to do with anything except looking to troll out another argument. At this point I'm not acknowledging anything u'd say so just a heads up I'm not replying.
Wasn't that a reply? Anyways, when you keep calling out people on the forum, I'm going to call you out. That's what the purpose of the last post was. Anyways, you not replying (to I guess this post) is fine with me. Call me a troll all you want! Edit But this is the main reason for my last post!
Kids quit arguing. It's embarrassing. On topic this game looks promising but I'm 99% sure the iap system will ruin it for non hackers. Hackers will get unlimited iap free like they always manage to do.
Yeah I dont know why Gameloft think that Freemium can drive away hackers. They always find a way to hack the iap for free no matter what, and i'm sure this will be the case with this game.
Does anyone know if this game will be Game Center compatible? Dungeon Hunter 2 was but thats been the only Gameloft game to feature Game Center.
I'm sure there will be achievements through GC. As for multiplayer, it's supposed to be added after launch so there is no guarantee on that.
Yup. If ur in the US the game should be out Wednesday night but NZers will have it by Tuesday night. (referencing US time) I think that's how it works.
