They can't, it's because your ipod touch doesn't have the open gl 2.0 required by the unreal engine hence the limitation for 3GS and up.

So if I have an iPhone 4 should I expect better framerates with options set to full in the new patch? Or will I have to lower my settings to get those framerate improvements?

I would like to add the suggestions I made in another thread, regarding a toggle option for the auto-camera.

    1) Toggle for the camera (so it doesn't auto-adjust if you so choose).

    2) Allow for a true 100 percent top-down view, zoomed all the way out for viewing of action better. It's almost there, just a tad more ability to zoom out imo.

I didn't mean to completely remove the auto nature of the camera, but at least give us the option to toggle it off.

It can get lost spinning wildly out of control if you are stuck in a fight in a corner. In one battle, I got stuck between a tower and the environment and the camera just spun wickedly. I had big mobs beating on me while I was trying to get the camera to quit spinning so I could re-orient myself and get out of there.

This is a problem I find in just about any 3D game, especially 3rd person ones. I really agree with the ideas of making the walls go transparent when you are up near them, if there are resources to do that. I realize that may make the game slow down more though, which is why I would just be fine with a "toggle auto-follow camera" option.

I would love an option for a 100 percent true top-down view, all the way zoomed out. I play zoomed out all the time, zoomed in is cool to view some action to an extent, but I find it not so great/useful while actually fighting (Although in cases of wanting extreme precision on placement/orientation of towers I can see the zoom feature useful). But would make the gameplay and camera parts even better imo if you could zoom out all the way.

Sorry I'm so long winded...lol. I love, love, LOVE this game, I am going to be purchasing the PSN version the minute of release, and I'm going to love that even more. Knowing though that I can finally take a game from the Playstation Network, and take it on my IPOD ON THE GO!!!! Sony couldn't even do this right with the PSP, and here you guys come along and make it cross-platform with android, ios, windows, xbox, psn...lol. AMAZING! More reviews need to make note of this, or re-review the game at least once this patch hits. There is so much to this game, I see people complaining all the time that there are no "Deep" games on the iOS devices. Then the deep games come out, and the complaints pour in that they are too complex, they can't be just opened and played for 2 seconds of jumping on clouds for points, it can't do every action with 1 or 2 buttons, etc... it's a shame really.

I'll buy it when the UI is much improved from what it is at the moment.

Remove some of the buttons and/or make them tidier. Also, make them more explanatory.

I Asked this in another thread, but I'll ask it here as well... where are these Gamepad add-ons for the iOS devices? I've seen sites report on them, but never seen one for sale anywhere or hear much about them other than a vague, rare appearance on sites like TA.

I ask, because I wonder if one would release and Apple supports the thing, would you all be able to implement it's use in Dungeon Defenders: First Wave?

For people who don't like/want the UI as it exists, or for the really hardcore that want even better control or more of the screen visible, supporting something like this could be really good, and also give the device a solid game to show it off!

I play games like this on my iPod Touch while I'm at home, I can comfortably sit on the couch and play, while my kid watches cartoons and wife is on Facebook. A Gamepad add-on would be more comfortable for long play sessions imo (and that's not the game's fault or the developers, it's just a limitation in the iPod/iPhone design from a game standpoint). And then opens the door for even more complexity in these games!

I see people recommending the iPod/iPhone being used as a controller for the iPad version, that would be a good fix for their portion of the market. But for everyone else, just think how much good one of these controllers could do!

I hate to burst any bubbles here, but from I gathered, the list of cross platforming didn't include the xbox/psn version. It was only for the mobiles/ipad/pc. Can someone correct me?

very nice update but i after playing and playing i got used to most of the things now, i have two suggestions to make it better and they are easy to do, the first one is that i dont see any UI changes in the new list... you could make the buttons semi-transparent so we could see more, and the second one is that the camera could be touch oriented, swipe to rotate the camera and pinch to zoom. will we see any changes on these things?

    Hey Trendy,

Something I'd love to see for the Survival Runs and HOPEFULLY it would not be that big of a change to program while meaning TONS to somebody like me obsessed with randomness...

Randomize the entry points in Survival Waves!

I'm not even asking for you to completely randomize the mix of baddies in a given wave, just the entry points.

So if wave three of a map has our hero facing 6 goblins and 2 archers, why not just make it so how they enter the map in a given wave randomized (one time all 8 might come through door #1, another time the two archers will come out door #1, 2 goblins out of door #2, and the final 4 out of door #3).

As it stands it feels a lot more like a case of simply memorizing the patterns and setting up your defenses accordingly even a few waves in advance when you know who is coming through what door in advance if you've played the map before.

  14. +1 to the semi-transparent buttons and the camera tweaks. Also, can you make it so that players customize the size/transparency of each button?

The developer said on the forum that they are submitting this week and then it should take another week for Apple to approve, so two weeks tops.
