I'm not very familiar with the approval process... when, during those two weeks, would an Apple employee tell Trendy Ent that the patch is a no-go? The tweet doesn't comment specifically on the inclusion of Gamespy, so there is no telling whether Trendy Ent have made certain before submitting the patch that Gamespy is allowed.

Normally, I would never have thought about it, but a few users more knowledgeable than myself pointed out that Gamespy might indeed be a problem. (Possibly since it "competes" with GameCenter.)

What are the patch notes? Does the patch address the lag in both local and online games?

Off-topic: I've been visiting these forums for a while, and I finally decided to join today. Hello :)

Yeah Apple is just as bad as they were years ago at approving. I'm probably just going to get an Android this summer once my contract is up because Apple hasn't gotten better after all these years and that's pretty sad. Apple should use their brain and learn from the biggest company in the world (Google).

On the other hand, the android marketplace is an absolute mess, partly thanks to the lack of an approval process. Apple's reason might not be one we find important, but their approval process is not long thanks to neglect or lack of competence, but by choice (though it might be a choice many of us see as a bad one).

Apple usually let the developers know about the status of their app or update, whether it is pending for review, in review, or approved. It should be under review by now, but, it usually doesn't take long.

I hardly ever experience crashes. if the game is able to be played for most people, then it's not defected. may be laggy, but it's still playable. Plus it's the app's problem. contact the devs, don't rant to apple. It'll just make it worse.

Is it definitely confirmed that characters will not be transferable to the xbox version

I thought I read somewhere (don't quote me on this, because I'm not 100% sure) that Microsoft doesn't allow cross-platform play or something, which I thought also implied that the characters are non-transferable between Xbox<->Other.

The new update (which is in the approval process now) has a ton of crash fixes. Most of the crashes are related to game center (especially the dreaded iPad one). Use of Gamespy should eliminate these crashes. There are also app settings now, do you can automatically set it to use Gamespy, etc. Game Center achievements are still available while using Gamespy for online play :).

On the android devices I've played on, the lag is much less noticeable via gamespy. The same should hold on all iDevices.

We're really sorry about it. We didn't want to submit multiple small patches to Apple. So we waited to get everything in this big one. There's a ton of performance fixes, some new content, a familiar, and a follow camera! Not to mention iOS + Android cross-platform play, some new holiday weapons, tons of rebalancing, some small UI changes, iOS 3.2+ support, some voice chat improvements, AND a performance scaling option. So you can choose between performance/graphics on your device.

There's a ton more updates too. We'll be issuing a press release once we get approved!

Wait you are using gamespy servers for online multiplayer? I believe this is for the cross platform play. why not setup your own servers, that seems like a better way to control the lag players experience, as you can adjust everything yourself.

also read your guy's twitter page, I mentioned you all in a tweet about a review of dungeon defenders that was written. It may
be something you want to include on your site or in the app description.

We're a small indie studio, we don't really have enough money to set up and run our own servers at this point in time :/.

I did not know that. But for an Indie Studio this is a f*cking fantastic game. The review I wrote gave it a 5/5 at this stage. You should consider a price increase, as the game is worth about 6.99 minimum in my opinion, and I have played and reviewed a good 246 games. :p

Approval process now, as in 'Review', or as in Queue to be reviewed? sorry to ask for clarification. Just excited for the next update.

Well tons of people cant get it to work either... Not I can't even get into the home screen now, I just see the title and 10 secs later it just crashes.

They haven't told when the update that is suppose to fix the crash will be released...

Right now it's "waiting for review"

Thanks! We have about 12 people on site working on this and some other games. Hopefully this update will push us up in the charts so we can make some more awesome content for you guys!

Shortly after the patch is released we will raise the price to $4.99. $2.99 was initially a holiday sale, but since so many users were unable to play the game and there were so many crashes we wanted to address all these issues before the price increase.
