I don't know if it's just my device, but I have an iPod 4 and the game still lags even on single player when there is a lot going on. Multiplayer is even worse. It sucks because I really wanted to like this game, but the lag ruins it.

It's not just your device; It's everyone's. Single digit framerates occur regularly during gameplay, even on 4th gen devices. I think even some of the posters from the DD forums who used to staunchly defend the game have started to realize it themselves.

Seems like iPad 2 is how the game should be played. Far smoother than on my iphone4.

I dont think there are any "best" character in the game. In fact if you want to play it to the fullest solo, you will need to have every character in your inventory. Some of the stages in the highest difficulty level can only be completed using a combination of the characters.

The easiest to play if you are beginning, will be the squire and the apprentice, definitely lay off the huntress and monk.
If you play online all the time, you can get people to help then you can probably use any character you want, but if you prefer solo sometimes, I would recommend starting with the apprentice.
Coz a high level apprentice later on, can help you max out your other characters pretty fast.

So my suggestion is you level and learn the game with apprentice.

Once you get good at the game, you know how to switch characters between waves, then you can get the apprentice to help you level any character 1-30 in like 3 hours or less easy by yourself.

Then you can start experimenting with the other characters.

I e-mailed Trendy, and apparently, this was some sort of administrative mix-up. They said that Dungeon Defenders should be back soon.

This game was meant to be played on a dual core device. Thia game lags like hell on my ip4. I now have an ipad 2 and it runs buttery smoothhh.. Now all i need is some way to transfer my characters to my ipad2 which is nonexistent as of now. What a bummer. Starting back from scratch again. :\

It plays smoothly on my iphone 4. Offline and online even with a lot of monsters on scree. i never experienced any framerate issues. Not even those single digit framerate problems others have experienced. I only experienced lag when my isp goes wonky but never any performance issues, at default Graphical settings (slider at the middle).

What? U must be getting some lag. Ive been getting lags offline on insane survival runs with my apprentice when the mobs reach the 100 mark. Online is even worse.

How does Dungeon Defenders perform on iPod touch 3rd gen? (Don't feel like wading through 350 pages worth of commentary...)

Horribly my friend. Don't waste your time! I won't even play it on my iPod touch 4th gen. I really like the game idea/concept. I'm just hoping the PC version comes out at some point in the near future.
