Good list and initial impressions - agreed on all points. I just started and I can see there's plenty to learn. The beginning is totally disorienting which brings me to... .. the tutorial, the weak part of the game so far. Of course, it's just a tutorial so that doesn't last, but this was not well implemented. I wish they would have used bubble pop-ups with arrows instead of large transparent windows which a number of times, actually obstructed what you were asked to select. Between this giant semi transparent window and the large icons at the foot of the screen the whole thing felt cluttered and confusing. Once past the tutorial - my anger diminished and I began to like this game... a lot. I haven't tried Multiplayer yet, because it looks like it's going to take a bit before you get your act together. Overall, I have a feeling this will be my fav of the December 16th onslaught.
This totally sums up my thoughts. The tutorial was horrible and clunky and the dialogue boxes stay on the screen for too long and there's no way to click them. I really enjoy the rest of the game though and the depth is refreshing. I was thinking it would be super simplistic but my god is there a lot to learn with this game. I wish they would implement swipe to turn as using the button on the right side can be cumbersome.
Hey, I don't really like the performance on my iPad so I'd like to fake my phone's fw and give that a go. What method do you use to fake your firmware? I can't find the right one on cydia.
maybe it's because you guys are stealing the game? I have no pity for your performance issues if you're stealing from iOS devs.
Hey trendy i've got some questions: -Can i unlock pets via loot in the first wave version? Because there's some achievements likned to pets -Can i forge items in the ios version? I can see a "forged by unknown" on each piece of loot i gather and i remembered that the pc bersion can create things.
Recent comments sum up my thoughts too - tutorial was horrendous. Once I'd played through that I nearly just deleted the game. It's still on there but haven't touched it since. Comments on here encourage me to persevere though. The camera controls are terrible; fiddly and really not conducive to good game play at all. I'll give it another 30 mins of my time to see if it starts to make sense and 'work' for me but I do have to say, I've never played through a tutorial before that not only confused me more but also which actually frustrated me by sitting on top of things I wanted to see. Genius idea to make it semi transparent too - just to make sure it's not just hard to understand but also difficult to read too! Jamie.
I got the game and went thru the tutorial but what bothers me about this game is the controls and moving the camera. Even though it was made with the Unreal Engine The graphics looks like it doesnt have Retina support implemented into it. And the menu is on the other side so you have to turn your ipod to add skills and stuff like that.
multiplayer Is it possible to join "random" matches or do you have to have friends with this game in GC for multiplayer?
Seriously this is one of the most indepth multiplayer experiences on the iOS. If you don’t believe me you’ll have to experience the amount of Strategy needed to survive your first boss fight. My only complains are the finnicky Gamecenter matching. It’s not always possible to join with friends!
This game IS deep About the camera and tutorial windows - you get used to them, but the devs are really active and take a lot of user feedback. I'm pretty confident a future update will allow swipe to look and toggling of the tutorial windows
Yep that's the point! And we believe most of these multiplayer problems are with Game Center itself, not the game. So, hopefully Apple addresses it soon-ish. Honestly, we're surprised anyone here liked the tutorial . I won't try to defend it. That said, I really hope you give the game another 30 minutes or so. The general consensus seems to be that once you get the controls down, the gameplay really shines.
