Nope, it won't run, NO UNREAL 3 ENGINE GAME WILL RUN ON 1.ST OR 2.ND GEN DEVICES (and of course the iPod Touch 3G 8GB, for people who still don't know it's a 2G). (not including the iPad of course.) just remember that^^.
So I'm tempted to get this game, it being on sale today, but with all the poor reviews (including by TA) and crashes, I'm still really hesitant. Have the control issues mentioned in the TA review been addressed with this new update?
There were no control issues, it takes a little to get used to but works perfectly if you give it a chance. Unless your jailbroken on 4.1 I don't think you'll get the crashes. Definitely buy it while it's on sale, it's easily one of the top games ever created for iphone.
Since the app passed Trendy Ent's internal testing for 4.1, coupled with the fact that there are reports of nonjailbroken 4.1 users being able to play it (a friend of mine, among others), we can't rule out the jailbreaking factor. The system incompatability might, in some way I cannot perceive, be caused by the jailbroken state. If it is not the JB, I must say I'm surprised that this patch has been in development for many weeks and still lacks 4.1 support. One would think lack of this would have been rather easy to catch, considering it was one of the primary complaints with version 1.0
Even with the control issues and flaws, this game still has to be one of the better deals on the App Store for only a buck.
They are definitely justified for the version, but hopefully once we push the patch over the weekend all of these will be resolved. Does anyone know how Apple's rankings work when you update versions? Does it re-start in some sense? And sorry once again guys, all your feedback is immensely useful. It's going to help us solve these issues way earlier than we could ourselves, so please keep it coming .
Maybe this has been answered before, if so I'm really sorry: is it my idea or after the update all the levels have been unlocked?
Two sets of ratings. One for current version, one for all versions. I "think" the rating that you see before viewing the file in detail (aka on the top 25 or whatever) is based on the current version, so no worries there.

The game sounds awesome so I'm probably going to spring for it at 99 cents, but I am jailbroken and at 4.1. Will be interesting to see if there are issues and will keep fingers crossed.
Just fyi, I just bought this game, and am JB at 4.1. I was previously unable to purchase this game as you had to have 4.2.1
If you crash, feel free to follow the fix listed earlier in this thread. (I believe it has to do with changing your version number to 4.0) We are trying to fix this ASAP.
No gamecenter then, but still it's better than nothing. I wish GameSpy multiplayer would actually work... I've not yet managed to join a game, it always says "Failed to join the game"
While this game is really fun, it is extremely difficult to control lol. Still though, it's really deep and has fun gameplay mechanics. I will be enjoying this for a while getting used to the controls.
