Online gamespy play seems disabled, I can even touch and activate the icon. This update destroyed all my chars, I had to create new ones. I though that heros were stored in a server like a MMO... Im going to lose my progress with every patch? Oh and a giant bug: if you dont choose English language in the game options, the game just doesnt start. So, a lot of people is right now unable to play unless they change that option.
Word of caution to all people attempting the version change: Don't do it with iFunbox. It doesn't save due to not having enough permissions, and now my phone is stuck at the Apple Logo.
Ipad 4.2.1 not jb crashes after trying to start playing intro movies so disable them and selected gamespy still crashes so opened the fast switching bar deleted dundef icon started game again and game now works for me
Go into settings and if you scroll all the way down there should be a Dungeon Defenders section, click on that and then the option that says "Gamecenter... something or other" switch that to on. Then exit the app out of multitasking (if applicable) and go into it again, it should have switched back to Gamecenter.
Tip: Coppy the file you want to edit onto your computer, edit it, save it on your computer, coppy it onto your iDevice. Otherwise it won't work with iFunbox. I'd recommend using iFile though (wich is free in cydia), you can then edit your version number whenever you want right on your iDevice. (it works alot better!)
The only thing wrong with the version change is gamecenter doesn't show up even though I set it to on in the settings page. I tried changing the version number to 4.2 but it crashes after the video again. -_- Oh well, at least I can play it and it's quite enjoyable. I've been playing it 3+ hours straight.

Ipod Touch 3g ios 4.0 (JB) here. Got it during the sale now, it works. After the 3rd wave crash, didn't work after this crash. Respring, Restart doesnt help, just deleting the app and reinstalling works. This sucks. edit: now it crashes again. Won't play it, until this bug is fixed...all the 1*-rates are justified because of this Bug. The game itself is gorgeous.
So, updated to 4.2 and jailbroke it, tethered. New iPhone = no SHSH blobs. Ah well, at least I can play this game now.
I cleared 925 MB of space, deleting chunky fukkas like DRIVER (404MB), MIRROR'S EDGE (100MB), ZEN BOUND 2 (151MB), EA MMA (111MB) and even SPIRIT (16.9MB) and still it's telling me to clear more space to download this game? Forget it.
Game works FAR better now with the update than before. Framerate is good, and although it chugs a bit during busier segments, it remains playable on my 3GS. I wish they changed the interface though. It's terrible. And the whole equipment and character windows need reworking.
well using IFILE trick worked for me, still crashes every single time when i try and change it back. oh well at least we can play while waiting for a patch. looks better on my ipad too.
Although the update says "*Performance scaling option for iOS, user can now reduce resolution and detail to further increase performance even more as they see fit", I'm assuming that it still will not play on an iPod 2G (due to the Open GL 2.0 issue)?
Dang i really feel srry for ppl who didn't own the game b4 the update. I'm gunna have to find a new technique for orge smash since the hunters gas trap is ineffective now. Made it to the last wave and died with only 3 ogres left -_-.
