iPad Dungeon Defenders: Second Wave - (by Trendy Ent) (v6.7)

The game ALWAYS crashes right before the main menu. I have restarted and all that, but I never can get past this spinning blue circle thingy.

iPod Touch 4, iOS 4.1

Edit: tryed both gamecenter and gamespy, crashes on both.

 

Can you change your iOS language to English and try again. We have a feeling the crash may originate from a first-run condition on other languages besides English.

Anyone else who is crashing: what are your iOS languages?

 

I'm on English.

Oh and after deleting the app and reinstalling, it gave me an option to use Gamecenter or gamespy. I tried gamecenter before so I tried gamespy but it still crashes.

Again, the crash happens right after the video when a blue circle thing comes up. The app then stalls a bit and then crashes.

It crashes for me on eglish language, the game language is set to english aswell.

 

Yep. I tried enabling GameSpy (which is done by disabling GameCenter, right? ), enabling the movie skip, using iTunes for music, running the app in english, and different combinations of these four settings. Unfortunately, the crash remains the same.

EDIT: Oh, I get a slight screen flicker with distorted colors just before the blue circle appears and the app crashes. Might be helpful

EDIT 2: English is my language, with Swedish as a second keyboard.

EDIT 3: Does this crash occur for anyone who is not jailbroken and on 4.1?

Yes, turned ipad off, then restarted.

but I dont see my character...it was level 4 or 5 and now its telling me to make a new character...

 

Download's almost finished. I am updating from the previous version of course, on iOS 4.2. Will report back shortly after syncing.

Edit: So upon starting the game immediately asks you to choose between Gamespy or Game Center. I am not sure if that's a good thing... I mean, most people on iOS would probably choose Game Center, anyway.



Edit2: WOW. The new chase camera + Zoomed ini view = 3rd Person mode!!! Just make sure you don't zoom out anymore now, heh. Also I am noticing better performance at the lowest graphical setting so far, even in 3rd person Feels like playing a whole new game!

By the way the game still looks gorgeous even in the lowest graphics settings in 3rd person.

 

Thanks let us know. We are trying to figure out if the crashing is only on jailbroken 4.1...

This is the only resolved issue we have so far:

DD 2.0 for iphone has a little bug.
This is FIRST RUN crash.
It has appear on KOREAN language.

And My Temporary Solution:
My iPhone KOREAN language.
1. Change iphone Setting-> general -> internasional -> language-> ENGLISH
2. RUN and Game Menu
3. Exit
4. Change Setting KOREAN
5. NOW solved. that's OK.

I think it's only first-run problem.(perhaps gamecenter & gamespy select dialog )

 

Did you try restarting and running it yet? Also, afterwards try launching it from the gamecenter application (with gamecenter enabled)

 

So I've updated both my Iphone 4 and Iphone 3GS both running IOS 4.2.1 and the game runs great on each one, Game center invites work, But I am having a problem getting Game spy to work on my iphone 4 ( have not tried on 3GS yet)
I've created an account through the app re-directing you to safari but when I try to log in it won't let me. Other then that everything runs fine. I would just rather try game spy vs Game center.

 

This won't run on my friend's 3rd gen 8GB iPod Touch even if the graphics are lowered will it?

 

I'm not having luck either on iOS 4.1, and I'm already running in english. Reboot didn't seem to have help.

 

Okay so the game runs fine in 3rd person camera view but the movement and camera is still a bit too funky unfortunately. While you can really see a lot more in front now, I would have preferred to have manual swipe camera rotation controls and let the joystick move independently (kind of like how Aralon works, perhaps?).

I'll try to play more to get used to it, it's certainly an improvement from before when it comes to visibility.

 

Fellas, if you post saying that the game crashes, include whether you are jailbroken or not (as this seems to be the suspected culprit), what iOS version and device you are on, etc.

Has ANYONE who is not jailbroken received the crash directly after the animated intro movie, just as the blue circle shows up?

I tried both these solutions, but no luck.

 

For those of you experiencing crashes, have you tried playing in Airplane mode? It fixed the crash I was having with Illusia before (and you can turn Airplane mode off once you are into the game).

It runs good on the iPad, but I can't seem to join a game on Gamespy. Every room I go to it always fails in the end.
