Judging from Eli's play through I see two problems that might be a headache, not being able to see spell drop ability so you can make a judgement on which to equip, and not being able to swap a new spell to a slot of choice. Seems really tedious to force a circular swap layout, although I understand the mechanic as it forces spell cooldowns to reset, thus halting current progress or tactics to make new choices. Eventually someone here will create a google doc spreadsheet of which spells do what so you can make informed choices, however still a pain in the ass kind of mechanic lol.
What games have you played with a constant variety of environments? Even big name titles tend to reuse a lot of terrain in each region.
Keep in mind, that was my absolute first play through of the game... So it's entirely possible that I'm overlooking something very stupid and obvious.
I noticed the bugs BoneyCork saw as well. -- I'm not too knowledgable about the game since I've only played the first for like 5 minutes but as for this game, when you find a new spell, you can't choose the slot to place it but you have to keep tapping it to cycle them through your screen to get the set you want. -- Here's some requests for an update. -Allow a save midgame so you can come back later (if you're good, you may spend a while in the dungeons which means you can't ever close the app in case the app force shuts itself, then you lose all your progress). - Allow a quit option out of the dungeon so you can go back to the main screen. Maybe add a warning you will lose a meat. - Remove the meat icon if you have infinite meat. I thinkkkk I have infinite meat but I can't tell because that icon is still there and it still shows as buyable in the store. - Add some kind of stat tracking, preferrably per character. Like on the warrior select screen maybe show "Monsters Slain" "Deaths" "Spells Activated" "Lowest Dungeon Floor" etc. These would be cool to keep track of. Thanks!
Given it some more time, and I'm 99% sure I'm not going to pay for the timer. I'm just not earning enough gold. Gold buys everything in this game and there's just not enough of it. I'm coming out of each run with barely more than I had going in and it just seems geared toward me spending real money. If there's something I'm doing wrong here I'm more than welcome for some tips because going in with 45 HP and 2 Attack is dooming me from the start, but once I've bought one-shot items to boost those I've basically cancelled-out any gold I'll earn in the dungeon. Unlocking skills seems to help, but they're not cheap...
I gotta agree. I was excited and downloaded from NZ, and figured I would buy the never ending meat tube once it hit the US. Played through all my timed meat and am walking away a bit disappointed with the progression. It seems like I can't get anywhere without being able to upgrade the base hero stats. I made it to about the same level and score every run. One run in particular seemed like I had a chance to advance by getting a couple of swords early on, but once the monsters stats are way better than your own, there is nothing you can do. It feels like the only way to progress would be with revive stones, which I am not sure can even be found in game. I used my free stone on a portal at level 18, only to quickly be destroyed.
You can quit mid game, the game auto saves. The next time you load up the app, click on the same dungeon and you have the choice of either starting a new run, erasing your current run or you can choose to continue.
Yeah I'm bummed you can't personally upgrade or "level up" the characters. I wish there was some way to help boost the character instead of having repeat sequences in dungeons.
Alright, I played a bit more conservatively and I'm definitely earning gold, but it's way too grindy for me. 500 gold for the next skill, 1500 gold to have two skills active at once. On average, I'd say I'm earning 100-200 gold per run right now. That's...a lot of runs. I can't even upgrade my sword without a premium currency rune, and a free one hasn't dropped yet. Can we get them just through gameplay? Sorry to keep complaining. I just loved the original so want to find a way through here, but the balance seems way off?
I actually love the change in pace and difficulty in Dungelot 2, the rewards and progression are just right. Compared to the first one, it was way too easy and unbalanced up until the point where you could easily steam roll hundreds of dungeon levels without dying after unlocking the top tier skills which were way too cheap. It gets boring after a while being overpowered, unchallenged. One thing that I'm disliking about the game are the revive ruins, they make the game feel "cheap" as you can buy your way through the scoreboard. Edit: I have purchased the Golden Ham but the timer is still there?
I'm loving this, even with the somewhat annoying f2p elements. By the way, is anyone else feeling the major Harthstone vibe?
I totally agree. Actually it's pretty much always boring. That was my biggest gripe with the first game. You needed to get through this endless chore of easy levels before it finally got interesting. That's a shame. I mean, getting a "high score" isn't a reasonable goal for a game to begin with. But with that option, it invalidates even that goal. I guess you'll have to "play designer" and set your own goals to make the game competitively viable then. Which always rubs me the wrong way. It's the actual designer not doing his job 100% after all.
Aw lucky! I wonder what the drop rate is for these. Was it in a chest or outside of a chest? Btw I can't find where to check how many runes you have without attempting to buy something. Anyone know where I missed it?
I'm getting some Weird bugs with the timer, just a moment ago I was needing just 1 min to get one more meat I closed the app do some other things and when I got back i needed to wait 3 min and didn't get anything Almost the same happened a few hours ago I leave the game with 0 meat for like two hours to get back on it to find that I still have only 1 meat Inside the dungeons if you pay a mercenary and move quickly to another floor you the message "select a target" stuck on the screen and can"t do anything unless you exit the game Edit the same thing happened again I close the app with a 1 min timer and when I get back now I have 5 min and no change on the meat counter
It was very lucky, but I had just accidentally spent the first rune you get on a revive, instead of skipping it. To answer your question, it was in one of the bags you typically find in a level.
