loving the new version so far - just have some little questions: 1. am i overlooking something or is armor nearly useless? i'm losing all my armor in the first 2 levels of a dungeon. when i upgrade health i can always heal up to this value, when the armor is gone, it's gone. 2. i'd also love to chose which items i want to use on my next run, possibly saving some useful items for an attempt to clear the dungeon. for a small run where i try to gather some gold i don't need those items, i'd like to save them for a later run 3. don't know what to think of the new spell system. in the previous version i could chose some spells and could cast them on a level of my choice. now i have to settle for the spells that lay on that particular level floor. with bad luck i have no nice spells on a floor with a boss...
I would agree with these, especially #1. Also, the 15% chance that the monster will kill the hero tile is totally unfair. Example: I spent 2 runes to resurrect and I was killed about three seconds later. I NEVER have enough mana, and the pro-monster totems get a little too intense to deal with. I would rather leveling up be based in something besides gold....like experience or your score or.....constantly debating whether to save for a level up or use in the tavern is frustrating.
There was absolutely nothing wrong with the first version (gameplay wise) other than bugs. Except maybe the dev has thought it might be a bit on the easy side. This version to me is a frustrating experience so far, with a greatly increased level of difficulty, but not in the sense that "if you play better you can do better", but more like "if you grind more you can do better". A significant downgrade for me from version 1. Sorry.
+1 Played for maybe 1-2 hours. Feels like a mindless grind. Doesn't feel like much strategy is involved.
Bug with unlocking mercenary? Is the mercenary supposed to be unlocked upon opening the 2nd dungeon, or upon completing the 2nd dungeon? The text suggests the former but I have done so without the mercenary becoming selectable. I had made my way to lvl 27 or so on the 1st dungeon (first time past 25) when I shut off my ipad. When I resumed some time later, there was no option to resume where I left off and the 2nd dungeon was already unlocked. I went back to the 1st dungeon and the game automatically let me continue from lvl 27. When I eventually died, I went to the hero screen expecting to be able to select the mercenary but was unable to do so. Bug or feature? Anyone else unlocked mercenary yet?
When I beat the boss on level 25, the second dungeon unlocked as did the mercenary. Ended up going back to the barbarian because the mercenary was so weak in comparison. I like the new pet, and once you are at level 2 with a character you can find a blue rune every time you find your remains from your previous run. I try to save my gold for character upgrades, but I have purchased allies and upgrades in the tavern on good runs. For anyone who bought the golden ham in the 1st version, you can unlock your purchase. Removes the timers and pretty much makes it a paid game. You can buy runes as IAP, but really not necessary. If you are short on them, try dying early. Once you're level 2, you can find at least one every run, as long as you find your stash.
I agree that the mana system is broken, and a couple of other things - in version 1 it felt like difficulty ramped up, here it feels like you run into a swarm of headaches by chance two floors in. Also version 1 you were actually using spells and gear together, here you're lucky if you even have mana to use for spells, which is a poor choice anyway because you spend on spells and bam two totems and counter spells spawn from enemies. Also being able to stun enemies should allow you a free hit, how can stunned enemies attack? And spells being blocked by shields? What's the point of activating a sword or crossbow attack if it's completely negated by shields, and you have to eat damage anyway, yet every enemy attack pierces your shield? Why do enemy attacks pierce shields yet our attacks don't? Idk the first dungeon is decent enough, however wasting gold on upgrading shields or mana is kind of a waste.
The sword and crossbow attacks are great exactly because they're negated by shields. Most attacks are negated by shields, but when you hit an enemy with a sword or crossbow it doesn't hit you back. So you save a ton of life. Your armor (it took me a while to figure this out) is a pool of excess hitpoints each one of which has a chance (represented by your durability) to not be removed when they take damage. So if you had 50% durability and were hit by 10 points of damage, each successive point would have a 50% chance of being negated. Those that aren't negated remove an armor point. So you could be hit by 10 but take anywhere from 0-10 damage to your armor. Over the course of hundreds of trials, you would of course expect to lose 5 armor.
So, every upgrade i collected during the level are gone after you die ?? Everytime on Level 10 I learn a new skill, Why do I keep loosing the skill ? Then the whole figthing thing.. When do you know when it's a 1 hit kill? it never seems to happen for me. i always need to hit them several times.
I think it's a one hit kill unless either the enemy has armour - in which case each hit knocks off one armour point - or the enemy dodges your hit - in which case their attack goes down, but they survive.
News Hello everyone First of all thanks for feedbacks and bug reports that don't let me go on holidays at the beach or whatever : ) I've added to my tasklist - try to fix problem with mana. - Also I want to add spell scroll salvaging so leaving unused scrolls will give you bonus in coins, armor,hp,mana or something else. If there is something that you find critical while playing ( please, dont ask me to rewrite whole game, or add things that I can't add ) - feel free to write down, sort of feature list that you miss. Without many words as it often difficult for me to read everything. I don't guarantee that will add everything but there is a chance that I'll add it to the next update. Cheers
It is MUCH improved. However.... I just upgraded the mercenary to level 4. With the new 15% dodge bonus, plus one +4 dodge powder, my evasion was listed at 44%. However, I did not dodge a single attack the entire game and died at Dungeon 7. I know in theory it's statistically possible, but anyone else? I don't want to keep playing if bugs this big still exist. Only one I've had a problem with so far, but that's a big one since I've sunk all my money into her.
Is it just me or does combat make a little less sense now in cases like the skeleton? Way harder to beat than the original version, and enemies with armor are way tougher now too
It seems the best run leaderboard is only keeping track of your most recent run? Shouldnt it be the farthest floor you have ever got?
That would be nice. Be interested in seeing where some of you guys die. I think I am dying early because I hold on to my stuff and don't use it. Off topic: Where are all of you dumping your gold into for stats? I have been putting most into health. I would like to hear some survival strategy on this new version of the game.
