Just want to say I was a huge fan of the first game, but I'll probably hold off on playing any further or buying any IAP until an update is released. I would really like some type of tutorial that explains what everything does and I'm tired of repairing my broken sword given my limited gold from each run. Hopefully an update will fix many of the bugs reported. I don't want to thrash on the dev but the game shouldn't have been released yet. Best of luck.

Almost had 3000 gold so I can have 3 abilities at the same time. I ran into the storyline with the ogres trying to take the sword back. I chased them off so I ended up with the sword broke. That's when I noticed that it went back down to a 2 levels so I had to fork out the gold and supplies to reforge my sword.

Talking about taking the wind out of your sails and going through a endless saving loop....

Think I am going to take a break and play Threes until they fix this. There is a fine line between hardcore and masochist...

Yeah, I just discovered myself that "destroyed" items lose a level. Ouch.

Bug report on that: My buckler was destroyed and dropped to level 4, but still showed the mats needed to upgrade to level 6. Closing and restarting the app changed the mats back to the ones for level 5.

Question about the bug where you are unable to proceed, the one about layers or something. Do we know if that's specific to the second dungeon? I just had it happen twice in a row in the second dungeon, but then when I went back to the first dungeon it was fine. Was I just lucky or is only the second dungeon bugged?

I have to agree with this.

It seems the game wasn't completely ready to be released. It's not a bad game by any stretch, just rushed. I hope the dev can work out the kinks, because this could turn out to be a really awesome game.

Dissagree. I'm enjoying this game a lot, and that's WITH the occasional freeze, bug, etc. I can't wait until it's patched. Your IAP will still be good after the updates coming. Why say that you're gonna remove it forever? A little harsh, no? Just keep it installed until an update comes along, then try it again.

You've gotten awfully worked up over a few dollars.

What really bothers me is the fact that this was released with so many blatantly evident bugs. I guess the volume of bug reports I'm seeing posted in this forum has been gnawing at me. Once again, customers are being used as beta testers on an already released game, one clearly not ready for prime time. Yes, I know using customers as unwitting testers has been typical of many company's approach to software releases, but it is no less galling here.

You must be paying with an iTunes card you got for Christmas. People essentially got robbed on some level by this game. Whether by purchasing gold & having the game crash mid run, this losing all progress and gold. Or investing time only to have the same thing happen. I lost $2.99 to the game, and until it is patched I'll consider the ham a waste too, so $6.98 down the drain.

It's the principle behind it. An unfinished product was rushed out. I got a $100 iTunes card for my birthday so effectively it cost me nothing. If I were to buy a console game that was this bugged should I not take it back and request my money back? And like I've seen in other posts, I feel like I paid to beta test the game. Sure I didn't have to pay for that IAP but at that time the bugs were basically unknown. A couple bugs I can handle but when the bugs are basically game breaking then I can't just sit back and do nothing. I spend hundreds of dollars a year on the App Store and this is the first time I've ever requested a refund.

This is getting crazier each day. Now we can purchase spells for some type of in game golf move? I need to keep playing to check this feature out.

Couldn't agree more. Loved the first and don't want to hate, but quite disappointed with the sequel so far. IAP has rendered it slow and cumbersome, and ultimately frustrating and not worth it.

Well, I really enjoyed the first dungelot and was excited about this. I haven't noticed the hugs that I am hearing about but, bugs aside, I feel this game isn't tuned for a good play experience yet.

It's simply way too much grind. I appreciate that there is a lot of customization with the equipment, but the way gold is earned at this point...

I don't know, maybe the gold for clearing a dungeon is more than 3 in the second dungeon? I have three keys but the second dungeon is gone.

It costs money and tunes to add more than one skill, to fix your equipment when it breaks—which, when you start getting a few pieces of equipment is more likely! It makes it a chore. If I were my character I would say screw this and just go work in a kairosoft game where there is money and skills to develop :)

So devs, please fix the bugs but also address some of the balancing and all the money grubbing. In playing for a few hours and getting past level 20 many times I've got a level 5 sword and a level 4 leather armor...a couple skills (didn't realize at first there was a cap) and it's just a dull grind. I am regretting buying the meat.

Please let us know what your plans are to fix this, I think it will relieve some of the agitation that is brewing here.

Answered my own question. Just got the glitch on Dungeon 1.

I guess I'll keep playing whenever I have meat available...but I can't justify buying any tavern upgrades if the entire run might not count.

So...not expecting to make much progress until the patch.

As for the idea that the game is too much of a grind, I thought the first game was a huge grind / RNG ...just slowly raising gold until that one lucky run that unlocked a new character.

People who expect to blow through the game are expecting something other than Dungelot, I think.

Yes we all know he meant gold. Just struck me as funny thinking of golf being in the game.

I don't know, I think this game is much more "grindy" to a flaw compared the first. There is good "grindy" and then there is bad "grindy". The first fell very much toward the former. I think this game sits somewhere in the middle leaning toward the latter. It has taken me far longer to get even a respectable run and even then it feels way too given to chance no matter how well planned and tactical one approaches this one. Let's not forget here that Dungelot is not a traditional Rogue-like (and honestly I don't like even calling it that though it's description falls closer to it).

I play tons of rogue-like games and have developed many game systems myself (In fact that's largely what I did for a good chunk of my life; develop and establish the hard math behind systems and also try to break them) ... The math here feels broken or at least very fuzzy. After upgrading I personally don't feel that much better off than when I started which is a problem for a game that offers character options and growth. You should feel a sense of elevating difficulty (obviously) but you should also have a sense of character growth and progression. Not that it isn't present here but it feels really stunted or at least not well, thought out... At least compared to the first game. There are just too many questionable design choices.

I wish I could see what the devs design doc looked like for this game...

I don't remember that really well thought out progression in the first one. I think I played over and over again until one magic run where I got like +7 attack over the first 5 levels and then facerolled stuff. Maybe I was playing a different version that you, I know the game changed a lot over the months.

I don't know. The original was a grind, but it never felt a "I've played this a hundred times and I'm going nowhere-grind" like this game does, and I owned the original since it's launch... Maybe it is just a matter of this communities perception being divided (with both games).
