Worse than the spell scroll shuffle is the spell scroll shop. It only seems to replace the spell in the right slot, so you better hope the spell on the left is the one you want to keep!
Ok, I have finally been able to get a foothold on the game. First thing I did was do about 5 quick runs without any buffs or anything. This was just to get a small amount of gold saved up. When I got around 500 gold I temporarily upgraded my attack 3 times (using my gold) to 4. When I did that I went into the dungeons and proceeded to completely clear them out. Being that my attack was so high I got more health then I was getting damaged at least about 4 floors in. I always went to the blue or gold sparkled floors first for buffs which helped clear the dungeon I was plundering. When i got to floor seven I ran into to first boss which I died fighting against which I used one Rune for a refresh after I died. I killed him and then got my sword. When I got back I forged my sword a few times and now I am pretty set. At least I can save now for more upgrades to my sword. Now I have 4 attack at default (with the sword equipped) and if I want to use gold to put a temporary upgrade on top of my 4 attack I can. That's how I got survival started.
A word to the wise mate, when your sword gives you +3 damage it might be time to stop upgrading it. Your sword will hit level 5 and require materials from the next dungeon, yet it won't give you more than +3 until you get those materials.
Still have not sen what to do with the items I find in bags nor an option to use them. Still haven't found any runes or anything,,can only get to dungeon level 11 max before death. Still no sword or anything of the like.
Lots of the items are for upgrading your artifacts like your swords when you get it. I found the sword on level 7 and there will be a boss to kill to get it. A few posts above I detailed how I was able to get it as I was getting stumped as to how to make it there in one piece. Good luck!
Man going for my 3rd key and I keep getting almost to it like floor 20 plus and I die.... Ughhh I want to unlock the other classes.
Got in floor 18... Only found 2 keys to unlock next class... I think the last key u probably need level 30 at least lol
Holy crap I just read the last few pages on this thread. There just too many questions! Ahhh! This game needs a solid tutorial more than anything. It would fix soooo many of the little issues people are having. So if the developer is reading this, Please put some time into making an active tutorial! Here are my tips: -Make sure you're equipping your armor/weapons. Green check mark means equipped. -Make sure to upgrade all the above equipment. This gives you more base health and attack values. -Make sure to purchase and equip any character skills (access by tapping the character portrait on the main screen). I spent gold on a character skill and forgot to equip it. It makes a good difference. -In the beginning levels, leave no stone un-turned. This helps obtaining the first skills. It's much less costly in the beginning than in later levels to do this. -If you're getting close to the level you need to get to, once you find the key don't stick around. -Spend gold on buffing your attack before entering the dungeon if you don't have the sword yet. The maximum upgrade base attack in the first dungeon is 4 without buffing. So you might want to buff to make it further into the dungeon. -The heal spell and armor (called fortification) are really useful. Also, when I come across a green apple, I always select to increase my overall health. -You will die.
Same. The RNG for the third key is ridiculous, I'll consistently breeze through to the floor before the boss and all of a sudden it's loaded with traps, totems, buffs to monsters, or I get raped before I even enter by a caravan of goblins. Pretty frustrating. I'm going to have to put this game down for awhile, I tried to hammer my way to the third key thinking grinding for an hour would do it when I have both armor and sword max level for first dungeon, but nah didn't help. You can't really fight against mechanics that onslaught against you. Not really fun, guess it's back to my 3DS.
Just barely snatched my 2nd master key with about 3 HP left. I as soon as I got the armor, I upgraded it to max level for the first dungeon. That is the good part about taking so long to unlock it; I have enough parts and gold to get to the max for that dungeon.
I seem to not have as much trouble as everyone else. I'm 2/3 keys into the second dungeon that I unlocked. I just grind some runs, and temp upgrade my items. Also all my perm equipment is maxed for now. ( they now require green gems which are sparse ). The game is VERY strategic. Keep your mana, use it only of you have to. Don't clear out rooms if your low on hp. Also I don't kill health totems only armor and poison totems.
Anyone else with the mercenary find the "low blow" skill useless unless you find the invisibility cloack?
I am enjoying this more after realizing upgrading the equipment also increases the attack/health. Just got the 3rd key without using runes and looking forward to the upcoming changes. I think a large part of the bad reviews are due to misunderstanding how the equipment works.
I like the challenge actually. A little self discovering would tell you what stuffs do. I'm still trying to get the third key with fully upgraded sword and armor but without buffing my sword more than once. And yes this game needs an almanac, or something that explains what totems have been discovered, what creatures have been found, what resources you have and how many, and like someone said before, more stats like your max kills records etc. It's still a good game just feels incomplete. I would definitely play more hence getting the meat if it had more stats as you would make players strive to do better or something but as of now there's no reason to play any more than the timer allows.
