A really grindy game. The devs ruined the original fantastic game and made this???? Oh well. Deleted.
Sigh, I'm feeling a little sad reading all the comments on D2. I'll try it today but from what i understood, the payment mechanics are a bit hard. Can I say that the paying unlocks are quite mandatory or i'm wrong? However, i think the dev is reading all this posts, and something will happen, in a good way of course (even for those who have already paid fir the unlocks).
With all the negativity towards grinding, timers and freemium in general, I wonder why F2P titles dominate the mobile market. Probably Dungelot 2 drew a different (more "core") audience than what it's made for...
So wait... aside from the new look, has anything actually improved since the first game? I see a lot of people posting about things that got a lot worse, but hardly a peep about anything being better. This is a sequel, right?
Well, the dungeon runs are shorter. In the first game the difficulty curve was extremly flat with a spike in later levels. Now it seems like a rather steady HP loss until you die. So, that's somewhat better. Although I'm not even sure, since the "strategy" employed is so minimal, it's hard to apply strategy game criteria like efficiency or balancing.
Thanks for the clarifications. I find that I still have 1 which I have never played and I am playing that one if I really want to.
Ok I'm not getting any meat the timers just reset and I'm stuck with 1 meat, anyone have this problem and if not how do I fix it?
I've probably played more than any of you and if you use your gold strategically and get better at the game you can save thousands of gold like I have. If you blow it all on temp upgrades each run then you won't make anything. I farm tower 1 to make easy gold. I don't know what you can't upgrade without runes as runes do drop and armour/weapons are upgraded with items you find during runs also. There are also still rewards for clearing the floor and random effect floors and I believe the monsters have more abilities. Permanent upgrades this time around are in the gear you collect from defeating bosses also.
Ok so I just tested this and I'm getting no meat about a hour later still stuck at 1 meat however the timer just resets, this is with the app closed so I tried watching the timer with the app open and it worked, anyone else having this problem?
Tested the game for about 20mn this morning, seems about as fun as the original. I didn't see many improvements, but I didn't play very long so these might be around the corner. I did prefer the original animated sprites for enemies, and there are quite a few things that did not make sense to me yet (What are these iron bar that I find for ?, and so on) Still undecided on spending bucks - the last update on the first one kinda broke the fun out of it for me
Thanks to those who explained about the Golden Ham IAP; my timer reset to 12 and is not depleting at all, so the IAP is not glitched. I've been looking forward to this game for months and I'm really enjoying it. I especially love the graphics. One thing that I hope is added are Game Center achievements. The first Dungelot has them and I'm a little disappointed that Dungelot 2 doesn't. With a game that requires grinding, Game Center achievements add extra fun and a feeling of accomplishment when, for example, trying to save gold for upgrades, which may take a while to do. I really do like this game though and I'm looking forward to any updates that are planned for the future. Hopefully we'll see some achievements added soon too.
how to do you unlock all the next dungeons? when i first started the game i saw a second dungeon on the map and never clicked it. after 2 run throughs it disappeared and i've never seen it again nor know how to get it back. do i have to defeat a monster to get it to appear? the lowest level i've hit is 11 or 12 so i'm not exactly sure what i should be doing. haven't found any gear at all besides the weak sword the first time you play through.
I enjoy it so far. Not much different from pt1, but a fun game! What I absolutely dislike is the way you can accidentally spend your runes after dying. Just one touch "anywhere" on the screen after you died (restart countdown) and a rune, later two runes, and so on, are gone. If it would be a specific button to press in order to restart I could live with it, but this way really sucks. I have already lost 3 runes because of this.
Lucky you I haven't netted a single rune on any run and used up the freebie rune from accidentally hitting a portal (which did absolutely nothing after I spent it). This game really needs a help section to explain all the items and other little things that are confusing.
Well, like I asked earlier. I need some advice, because I played the first game to death but I'm kinda struggling with this to make progress. I bought the first skill, which has made hearts drop more often, but going in with nothing else I seem to have no chance of making it to the end of the first tower I have no problem grinding the floors I can do to improve my character, but there isn't anything. It'll take an age to get 1500 gold to unlock a second skill, I can't get far enough to unlock gear beyond the sword, and I can't upgrade it because in a few hours of play I've seen no runes. The free one, I wasted on a portal that did nothing.
