I keep running into these gates with a rune icon next to them and the number 1, but when I tap on it nothing happens except the words "New TextMesh" come up on the screen.
Hello everyone! We will fix bug with textmesh and we see that there is really lack of response information to player that may confuse. It will be fixed in next update. Cheers!
This might be a deal breaker for me as you need runes for upgrades, is there a way to get runes without buying them? If so how?
In that a few fixes for the timer should be added since it doesn't work very well on the background Also sometimes when you change to another floor the tap doesn't work so you have kill the game in the multitask menu and at the same time losing the two hams of that run I think you dont need runes to upgrades at least on the weapons and armor the runes just give you a 100% chance of success when upgrading
Sigh... Progressing is painfully slow. This isnt how i remembered the fantastic game that was Dungelot 1. Sure Dungelot 2 is quite fun, but it's just too grindy now to get any real progress. The promise of "removing the freemiumness" in the $4 is not there, it only removes the timers.
It's not really a paywall though. It's just too grindy to afford the necessary upgrades to allow you to finish the dungeons. It also doesnt give you an idea as to what your recommended stats should be to be able to complete the dungeons, which means you may still die and lose all the gold spent on the temporary upgrades and then you have to grind again.
Tried it. I can confirm (answering my very own question) that it runs on the iPod Touch 4. The artwork is quite amazing. The gameplay is terrible. To be clear, it's probably overall better than the first game. It's just that I have become a lot more suspicious of games that are trying to waste my time (by making me take guesses, by heavily employing "tap a thing until it goes away" gameplay, by including any form of grinding etc.) lately.
Can anyone confirm you don't need runes for upgrades? I don't care about the grind I just hope I don't need the runes to progress...
Just played for a few hours and already this game is feeling very grindy. I miss the permanent upgrades from dungelot 1. Without them it feels like I am spinning tires and not progressing. Has anyone beaten the first dungeon without using runes?
I purchased the golden ham, went through the process of saying yes to the purchase and yet somehow I don't have it. I tried restoring purchase but after I enter my password the screen fades and freezes. ??? Never had an issue like this before. Any suggestions?
So I go to skills and it shows to add more then 1 skill it cost 1500 and 4 runes however, is it both or the 1500 or the 4 runes? Which I hope it is, can anyone confirm?
From what I can see, you use gold to unlock your characters skills. You also use gold and materials (found randomly in dungeons) to upgrade your items permanently
There are the equipment upgrades which I think are permanent. However they seem expensive for what little they improve. They also have a chance of breaking each time you use them which requires gold and resources to repair. And from what I can tell there is a chance the upgrade will fail if you don't use runes. At least you feel like you can progress a little without runes through this, but it is at a snails pace.
Well I have to say that after playing this for a while, I'm not that impressed, I prefer the first dungelot over this because that seemed fun when your playing it, even putting the timer aside because you can remove that there's something not quite right or as good here. I think it might be becuase the first game was simpler to play and understand. Think I'll just go redownload the first game and delete this one -_-
Great example of a developer making a fantastic initial game and then spoiling the followup by getting just a bit too greedy. This version makes you pay for the gameplay, else you're just wallowing in a dingy swamp of grind. I'm also back to FFV1 ;-)
What a pain but finally unlocked the mercenary Anyone knows how it work the skills that are show in the character selection screen inside the every character at the bottom?
So for free you get a freemium game that has timers and for 3.99 you get a pay-mium game without timers. Too bad there's no non-freemium version.
Red Winter has really upped the ante on this one, literally. I understand the economics of the of the mobile game market is forcing devs to leverage the freemium model to be competative, but when doing so impairs the entertainment value and creates frustration, the last thing I want to do pay them for it. Dungelot was a bit of a grind, but character development was interesting enough to overcome the monotony of the gameplay. That's what makes RPG's so entertaining, the stats, skills, the gear, and ultimately, the satisfaction of seeing your choices in action. Dungelot did that pretty well, but unfortunately, with this sequel, player choices seem much more limited, and in some case, just silly: I cant fit a potion and a piece of meat in my backpack unless I buy a better back pack, I can't equip the sword I just found unless I leave to go to the armory, I can't take the lantern unless there's room in my pack. What good is a lantern if it's in my pack, anyway? I don't mind paying for entertainment, but doing should enhance the experience, not make it frustrating.
I gave up and I'm so glad I held off on buying the golden ham. I'm making so little gold per run - sometimes actually losing money because my gear breaks and I have to pay to fix it. I can't upgrade anything without runes, and none have dropped for a while, so there's that. Also, the original had animated sprites, lucky boxes, mystery doors, permanent skill upgrades, spells you could use or consume, cheeky descriptions for each enemy type, rewards for clearing each floor... Why has that all been stripped away? Dungelot 2 isn't a bad game, but the first game offers the same gameplay with a much better balance, feature set and production values. I'll stick with the original and keep an eye on any updates, because I really want the expansive sequel this series deserves.
