    First web demo:)

Okey:) First version to test in web:) there may be bugs, I'll be glad to hear feedbacks from you:) Also as I dont write in english well spelling glitches are possible. ( No translators yet )

I've rewrote battle system making it more clear than at the video.

    Right now there are:

    • ~7-10 monsters and boss with traits
    • spells
    • perks
    • loot shop

Idea is to keep things as much simple as possible:)

    Cheers!

I almost forgot to go to bed last night after I started playing to demo/beta/thing. I am quite intrigued by what you are doing with Dungelot 2 and cannot wait to carry it around in my pocket.

    News

Hello everyone! Sorry for not updating any info. Local demo tests showed that I worked for the worse and had a very "hard" time coding:) . Decided to design game closer to the first part. The big problem was with GUI, it was too complicated and I wanted Dungelot to be as much simple as possible.

So I grabbed GUI from the first part and remade it making more clean and clear.

    What already I have done:

[*] Random loot generation ( tons of loot )
[*] Craft system with reagents ( potions, food and cool stuff such as bombs )
[*] Global map with different dungeons. Dungeons can be captured for passive bonus ( for example +10% gold bonus )
[*] 2 out of 3 heroes with 5 skills divided in 12 traits ( leveling in second
part much more bigger than in first one ), 1 flaw and one special class spell.
[*] Monsters..there will be a lot of them, all monsters right now have a speed variable that determines the turn order: little goblin will strike you more frequent than ogre. It allows to make cool tactic stuff and crowd control for physically weak caster classes
[*] Spells and mana. Mana restored from blocks and needed for spell casting and turning off debuffs
    [*] Quests working like achievements

It's a very big game right now:) especially for 2-men studio:) I'll try to update info frequently

This game looks absolutely stunning. Will this be a full-time rogue game, so we have to start everything from zero after death, or will be there permanent upgrades or character leveling?

I much prefer the constant upgrading of a hero/environment than starting everything from scratch over and over.

    About roguelike stuff: )

Dungelot 2 mixes permadeath and hero upgrades.

There are no levels, each hero have own skills to upgrade, unique spell and flaw ( Each hero has it's own flaw, for example warrior is a "dumhead" and spell cast cost more mana for him )

    Skills are passive.

You have 3 slots for artifacts: weapon, shield and armor. You can activate weapon and shield in battle to gain bonuses.

Each artifact may have traits ( up to 4 ). For example shield can have thorns and enemy will get damaged when attacking. All artifacts generated randomly so there can be a lot of different ways to make your hero stronger.

Also you will use consumables but they work in a little different way than in many rpg/crawler games. They work as passive bonuses to whole dungeon run and have durability that shows how much runs you can make with this consumables. You can take 3 consumables with you.

All consumables can be crafted and may use special rare crystals (inhibitors) to make them more durable, you also can find consumables in dungeon run.
Craft devided in alchemy, blacksmithing and cooking. There are some really useful things such as sticky nets that allows to immobilize monster ( slower attack ) , resurrection potions and so on.
Some craft ( such as resurrection potion ) is very hard to make and requires using other consumables.

Right now there are about 27 items to craft with 30 reagents to find.

Game map divided in towers and towers consist of dungeons. To open new tower you must clear all dungeons and "capture" tower by killing it boss. After this you will gain passive tower bonus ( it may be gold finding bonus or extra health )

Dungeons are not very big : 6-20 floors but they can have very nasty traps and events that kill :)

Each dungeon generates 3 treasure chest. Its up to you find them all or finish dungeon with smaller reward ( you will see treasures only after finishing dungeon ) Its something like "3 star rating system" but i find giving stars boring instead I give artifacts and loot:)

After finishing tower you get access to endless run for scoring.

Endless mode tests how greedy you are:) In theory this mode is unlimited and you can find tons of stuff in one run but if you die you lose everything you have found. So sometimes you will see mystic portals. Using portal is only way to return in safe from endless run and save loot. Sometimes you may feel that you can survive till finding next portal..;-)

    So..what about permadeath?:)

First of all if you die you have to run dungeon from 1 floor. You will lose forever one of artifacts that you use. And as there are no shops to buy gear losing artifact is a pain. Monsters will capture one of your towers ( if you have any ) and you will lose it passive bonus. You'll be able to recapture it.

I strongly recommend not to die in Dungelot 2 ( but you will and rather often MUAAHAHAHAAHHAH :))

Well, as painful as it is, this doesn't look to be my kind of game, so I'll pass. Roguelikes are just not my cup of tea, and losing artifacts destroys the collectible nature too, so I'm sad. :(

Well, that's nice, but I much more enjoy building my character (and see how he destroys easily a monster, that gave him trouble during a previous playthrough), collecting treasures over time, and seeing how I unlock more and more collectibles. Rogue games are out to destroy my progression and I do not really enjoy that. :)

Maybe in Dungelot 3 You could implement a more casual game mode, where not so hardcore players can enjoy the game too. :)

Anyway, this game looks totally gorgeous, so maybe I'll try it just for the heck of it.

To be honest no plans for Dungelot 3 as I have a lot of ideas and concepts that may be fun:) My dream is to make space battle ship simulating game :) Eh, but I still need plenty of time to finish dungelot 2:)

Heh, I got a lot of game ideas and concepts too, but I'm no programmer, and not yet started looking into joining a team and giving out my ideas. Maybe in the future. :)

As for Dungelot 2, keep it up! :)

    Advancing Dungelot events:)

For example players can find rune master that will upgrade artifacts for crystalls ( sort of gem crafting in diablo or torchlight )

Or you come across goblin horde that want to rob you. In some events you will be able to choose different ways to solve problem. For example you can brutally fight goblins or try to scare them. ( depends on you luck stat )

You may also find an ancient teleport thing that can move you to the last dungeon floor..or maybe not:)
