Undeadcow, I'm not sure where you got that from. The only character unlocked from the beginning in the current version of the full is the Paladin. Vampire unlocks at 15, Brewer at 25, Assassin at 35. Even in the original release, the Brewer was locked at level 10.
Tried the lite version. Now I can see what all the fuss is about. It would seem I missed the 99 cent sale, right?
The developer posted that Dungelot will drop to $0.99 again shortly in anticipation/celebration of an expected update that should include save system, achievements, a new hero, restored retina graphics, a hero mood system, etc. I recommended this game before, but with these additions and the price drop it's hard to imagine anyone passing on Dungelot.
If the full version is not on App Store now I am sure it will return and be $0.99 for a time. It makes sense to pull the app before a large update or price drop so no one complains they "overpaid" or to avoid pre-update reviews ranting things are missing when they will be there on update approval (retina, save, freeze item fix, stun fix, etc, etc).
@bramblett05 - You seem really spiteful towards Dungelot and I understand there were some mis-steps from the developer early on but your negativity is a bit of a downer. You really should give Dungelot another chance (especially after this promising sounding update) and if you like it fine but if you don't then consider letting bygones be bygones or at least leaving the Dungelot threads to recent material. The developer raised the unlock level for characters after initial release, I understand your point and was mildly annoyed myself but the was a while back...
Don't bother. Even though you'll have the full game, your device will always say "Dungelot Lite" or whatever it is on devices.
