Hmm, dilemma indeed. I'm gonna wait it out for later tonight to see what others say. Would like to see some video soon...get on it TA...
Yeah, it is an amazingly well done port of the game so far, seems just how I remembered it. It even runs significantly better than the Packard Bell or whatever the hell I had at the time when the game first came out. I'd love to see this game with the Wolf3D controls. :\
I hate games like this. They are old and ugly. Everyone knows the game already, all the level and the whole scenary. Im 23 and I think that games like Golden Axe or Duke Nukem etc. are just another way to get money for games, which are extreme old and which nobody will buy for the PC anymore. I hate those developers. Its just my opinion.
New pair of shorts needed. WWDND? What would Duke Nukem do if he found out you didn't help him out? Read the news guys, Duke is unemployed! He needs this money to eat! (cigars and strippers) The controls don't suck, they are just unique. Translation of the original game is A-friggin-PLUS. I would have paid $20.
Both Control Schemes are Terrible. I wouldn't recommend this to anything that is picky about controls.
there ports...and many people havent played them before(i have played them)but i would like to play a classic any day.... ur a douch keep ur opinion to ur self
Duke deserves a chance! These controls are going to take some getting used to. Why don't I see accelerometer options?
People like retro games, a good deal of people prefer them to modern games. Not being into it is fine but the hate seems a little extreme.
Terrible controls... Just picked this up, read the thread first and thought "how bad can it be?" the answer is terrible - while the graphics look superb, the controls are unbearable. At first I thought the dual analogue sticks might work like Minigore, but you don't get any visual feedback at all. The digital one was mildly better, but as I'm used to the sublime Wolf 3D ones it was a mind bending task to map my fingers and brain to the movement (hey I'm getting old!). Didn't notice any way to remap the controls but then again I didn't look for long. Wake me up when the fix the controls please! EDIT: found the option to remap/move the controls and will try again...
Duke Nukem Controls I find if you take a different approach to these controls they are not as bad. I like using the slider controls and tapping instead of holding my thumbs on the screen the way I do with wolf3D. Like ign said, once you get used to it, they work ok.
good stuff I got it, and I like it... however, i wish they would use the tilt for strafing. Cant wait for doom with some tilt action! It was an instant buy for me guys... I will play it till i beat it, love this stuff! Ill bet the price will hit 4.99 soon.
