iPad Duke Nukem 3D for (Now FREE 10/1)

Discussion in 'iPhone and iPad Games' started by jawslover, Aug 10, 2009.

  1. I would appreciate it if life would also throw me a bottle of Smirnoff to go with it.

The controls are functional for me, I can get around with them anyway. However, it'll be a lot easier once the update turns up.

George: I know the update should be out soon but you may want to send a copy to the folks that run this site and other app sites. That way they can comment on the main page as to the benefit of the update which should increase your sales.

It seems to be dropping down on the charts and I'm sure some front page update info would help push it back up.

Also letting them comment on your plans for the second update would be helpful.

Also if needed once the update is out having a contest for promo codes could be considered.

You know you just caused a bunch of people including myself to go hook up their N64's to play Duke64 right? :D

Perhaps you shouldn't ship until it's DONE next time, George.

The update has been submitted 11 days ago! Seriously ...

  8. Apple, by their own admission recently, is currently taking about 2 weeks for approvals.

I thought that was for first time submissions. I actually expected updates to get by a lot faster. What do the Pocket God guys with their weekly updates do? Submit them two weeks in advance?

No it's for updates as well. To get something live every week you need to upload updates every week, but run about two weeks ahead of the live version.

    Ditto

I still have a 1st gen touch & at this rate I'll have a 3rd gen before the update comes out.

Like me, you're waiting for the 3rd gen touch before you upgrade, right? Has one even been announced? It's still just rumours at this point, right?

If and when they do bring one out, I'll upgrade on the spot. Mine's starting to feel like an antique :)

The "timely release" track record for the Duke franchise isn't exactly stellar. It can take "Forever" sometimes.

They said they submitted the patch already, so I was taking a shot at them a bit unfairly. On the other hand the game was released prematurely. I suppose that may be better than never/forever though.

Waiting for the update here. As soon as I see the update has hit and you guys give it the TA seal of approval that it fixes the controls I'm sold. Multiplayer would be nice but even today Duke3d is a great single player game due to Duke's personality and "Bruce Campbell" one liners. :)

...Day 14, I'm sitting here in the corner of my house, and I've not broken my left mouse button from clicking Check for Update in iTunes. My eyes are bleeding from re-reading the Duke 3D forums hoping for an update... That noise I here something? Do you hear that? It's laughing, and partying? It apple, there staff has been on a long 3 week vacation.

Seriously, If I was a DEV, I would start raising HELL. I'm mean come on, the app was approved, an update it just an update, let them pass and DEV and end users will be happy campers.
