After Broussard ****ing over Duke Nukem Forever and all the people who worked on it with families to support, you already know your answer.

I've just started a new thread explaining how you can already install the current version of Duke 3D on your iPod Touch 1G; have a read: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=22611 (It won't fix any performance or controller issues, but at least it runs.)

I've mentioned this to the devs several times. It will be a priority item in the next update as I agree with you guys. I wanted it tweaked in the 1st update but there was no time and we wanted to get the control patch out immediately.

    Patch release time frame???

I appreciate the speed in which George and his team has submited the update. Does anyone have an idea when Apple may release it to the public?

    thanks!

  8. Nah. It's just that there have been so many good games coming out lately that they just don't have time to do any work.

Oh, the hard life of an Apple reviewer.

I read that and followed the procedure exactly. That configuration utility kicked out the same error for me 3 times before it worked (I was about to post it in that thread, but then thought I'd try it one last time).

To other touch 1G users though, I do not recommend it. I spent more time setting it up than I did trying it. Honestly, it's only worth it if you want to see just how badly the release of this thing was botched. Wow.

What are you saying , that George didn't pay his employees? Pure rubbish and from what I have heard they are still working on the game behind closed doors.

  11. Dude, seriously, get over it already. It has been discussed to death, fully acknowledged, the changes were put in place, the update has been submitted and now it's in Apple's hands. Continuing to snipe with bitter acrimony at this point just makes you look douchey. We're all really looking forward to better controls at this point; they can't get here soon enough. If you have some pressing need to whinge, at least wait and see what it is you still don't like about the updated version.

Even without the update you have the option of not tapping on the enemy to shoot.

Yeah, any video on using that option? Cause, I need to see how it is.

You don't have to tap to shoot, it's simply an option. You can shoot with a button on the screen, tapping on an enemy, or tapping on the screen to fire at the crosshair.

George, any word on what the next update is going to include? I think the concensus here has been we'd like to see (in no particular order):

    1. Ammo counter on screen
    2. Game Music
    3. Map
    4. The 4th episode
    5. Cheats
    6. Of course, multiplayer

That's probably going to take a couple updates to accomplish most or all of this. Can you share with us any ideas on your release roadmap?

    Thanks!

PS- I personally feel embarrassed about all the people here talking crap. Please take no offense. For every immature whiner on here talking s*it, there are 10 of us who really love Duke Nukem 3D and have gotten used to the controls on the iDevice. Really appreciate you dropping in the forums, sharing your thoughts with us, and showing your dedication to raising the bar on this game.

There's really no excuse for being so incredibly rude, newbie.
The dev is participating in the forums, answering questions, and asking for suggestions on how to improve the game. A patch addressing some of the issues has already been submitted.

For you to personally attack a developer--making unsubstantiated claims based on your own ignorant opinions--is just plain wrong. It is not acceptable here, or in most other forums.

Maybe you can just pack up your 10 newbie posts and move along.
No one here will miss you.
    Seriously.

Without pole jocking too hard, I agree. DNF didn't happen, get over it. It's called business. It's not like anybody here invested in it. And the controls are more than workable for those that are willing to invest 10 minutes into them. What can I say, if life throws you a lemon, make lemonade:rolleyes:
