Does that include the new "slider-style" controls? The description says there are two methods and one is much better.
Exactly the same. It has the two on-screen virtual joysticks which is pretty bad, and then the weird digital movement/view buttons that you see overlaid in the screen shots that is even worse.
Really. I was almost about to hit the buy button and saw your post. Thank you for putting me in a dilemma here. Please tell me you were joking(just lie for one minute until I press that buy button) Seriously someone please push me over the edge here.
I dunno, Hodapp seems to hate them, but the description said testers prefer them. I'm gonna wait on more opinions, there are a lot of options there so it has to be possible to get a half decent setup.
The problem with the on-screen joystick controls is they're not smart enough to re-center themselves when you take your thumbs off the screen kind of like how similar 3D games such as Caster ( http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=314016537&mt=8 ) control. The center areas of each of the joysticks are amazingly small, which really seems to add an even greater lack of precision compared to most dual-virtual joystick shooters.
I didn't think the controls on prey were that bad. They could have been better, but they were certainly not the worst I have experienced on the iPhone. Each to their own I suppose.
I call Hodapp lying. I bought this game just now and personally I don't think the controls are that bad, along with all the options there's no WAY it could be bad. ...Did that push you over the edge? EDIT: Jesus like 10 posts came up before I sent it! That was to 'ImNoSuperMan' and BTW, I don't even own it.
Ugh; just got it. The controls are terrible. Other than that; its a great game. The analog stick is nothing like Minigore or Wolfenstin.
