OK, if the dev is still on the forums, I want to know if the 1G compatibility will ever be fixed, or always stay that way. Cause if it'll be fixed then ill buy it now for the sale price.
First of all, I'm not a dude. And second, I am aware that it is not currently compatible with 1st Gen Touch. My question was directed toward the developer, not newbies who just pop in and post without having read the previous pages of posts!
Finally got the game! It is absolutely AWESOME! It runs great on my iPod 2g. The digital controls work best for me.
If George says it will be fixed it will be fixed. The intro sale price is something that Id could learn from. Get the game while its on sale! Looking forward to all the Apogee games on the I-phone. Make em and we will buy them, Dukem Nukem forever would be good too. Thanks, Rad
What about consolidating the jump button with the right stick? When dragging it'll work as a normal POV stick, but it could also be tapped to jump. You never have to turn or look anywhere when jumping, and jump is a momentary press anyway, so it would eliminate one button, be within more convenient reach, and clean up the UI a bit with one less button to worry about. The weapon selection needs a bit of cleaning up though; it seems kind of unfinished. Something like a screen of slots -- like the save game slot list -- with whatever weapons you have available in each. You could also add your pickups here, too (adrenaline, holoduke, jetpack, etc. so you can move those off the pause menu).
Damn, i am a big fan of the Duke Nukem series and was really looking forwad buying this game. I would rather wait and see if they fix the controls and pay the extra.
Newb here Had to reg just to put in my 2 cents. Sorry if this is redundant, I can't quite keep up with the thread: 1G touch user here, so I'm just going by the videos posted and what I've read/remember about the game from the PC version. 1. Mlook was not required in Duke as far as I remember. If you were on the correct "heading" to target a dude, the projectile could automatically fire with the proper up/down angle. Like in the original Doom engine. 2. I remember PC Duke being much darker (again, just going from whati see in the video). Is the gamma/lighting off or is it just me? 3. Saw some z-fighting on the decals. Major bummer. I remember from tinkering with BUILD that decals are pretty prevalent. I understand they are a massive pain in GL, but can they be fixed? Cheers
I don't understand all the bitching about the controls. I picked up the game and started playing without a problem. Its not that complicated guys.
I LOVE IT!!!!! The Duke shakes you... Should be in a tag line somewhere... and sounding like Mr. T...
damnit!!! Despite of all these negative things about the game, thinking about it for the past hour, I gave in to my love for the Duke series....o wells, let's hope Doom doesn't come out tomorrow or else I'll be kicking my myself...
