Here's an old story from a year and a half ago: http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-57450369-37/apple-30b-apps-downloaded-400m-app-store-accounts-set-up/ 400+ million AppStore users.
I was mistaken. As of October 2013, there are 65 million Steam accounts. But I think Connector was talking about games that are on both IOS and PC. And what I've found is that games that may be well known and popular on PC can be totally unknown to IOS gamers. Look at the threads for Incredipede and Stealth Bastard, and how many people have never heard of the games before, while they're well known and critically acclaimed on PC/Steam Plus the App Store has fostered this mentality of "Wait, wait till it's on sale, wait till it's free, everything goes free eventually" and where people are even hesitant to spend a dollar. So for that fact alone, I think a Steam game will always sell more than its IOS counterpart
Interesting, 400 million on ios vs 65 million on steam. Guess it's hard to tell which would sell a game more cause steam prices are higher generally, and steam customers are probably more faithful gamers. Thxs.
Improving your Duet scores Mike - doubt your still playing Duet, but if so, you might want to re-try Transcendence to lower your finesse score. While almost all of the 50 finesse levels are exactly the same, Transcendence changes upon each visit. So there's some wiggle room in order to lower your score. I'm at 466 right now. The Endless mode is much more complex. Very tough since the lives simply do not regenerate that quickly the higher you get. I'm not sure if my 137k will get broke, especially since 26k is 2nd place. Nevertheless, great game...I typically spend 1/2 hour playing it before bed. So hypnotic.

Just beat Transcendence VII with a clean run on my first time picking up this game in forever. Must be all the Flappy Bird improving my reflexes. :\
I just discovered this game, awesome. Beautiful, hypnotic, great soundtrack... But damn this is difficult, I'm at hope V, and I suffer... Can't imagine what things will be later... Anyway, great great game.
I finally bought this game, it is unbelievably awesome. This is brilliant, perfect game design. Also, I am breezing through it, and have no idea why.
I dug this out after watching the Bean Dreams gameplay. I am about to break my phone because I am still stuck on transcendence II, several months later
Why are daily challenges greyed out on my ipad 2? Do I have to pass a certain level to access them? Ha, answered my own question, it unlocked when I completed anger
