It's not magic, it's... uh... Science? You know, the worst thing after a good run is to restart. It's so slow compared to later.
I'm in the same boat. The large spinning blocks just kill my timing. I've never passed it. That's why I gave up on it for now to focus on perfecting as many levels as possible. I know how to do it, but I just can't get the timing down.
Well I hate to say it but I deleted the game, I was not getting past the 3200 point mark, I tried many times but I don't have the patience anymore, maybe it's because I am 42 years old dunno, have this with more games lately. But need to say playing DUET GAME was a great experience and I am glad I could participate, so people on to the next game.
Calm down and play Paint it Back. I've discovered that I'm not very good at Duet Game but it's such a small file size I shan't delete the game. I'll come back to it from time to time to attempt to get the perfects.
You mean get through each of the levels in each set? Yes, im through til the last set with the vanishing blocks which is killing me too much. LOL
We've just released an update for Duet that should help curb the difficulty of the final invisible stages. Now your blood splatters will fade out slightly slower than the rate that the blocks themselves fade out. This means the more times you fail on a particular wave (assuming it is an invisibility wave of course...) the easier the wave will become. This doesn't make invisible waves super easy or anything. It just means you're assisted/helped every time you make a mistake -- increasing the chances you succeed next time.
Makes sense. Basically works as a handicap which sounds perfect here. The more you die, the more "visible" the vanishing blocks get... Those where you've died to at least.
Thanks EP, I was actually just talking about the very 1st level and finally figured it out Love how complex these levels are when going for perfects. Kumobius please make that a separate Easy mode so it doesn't take away from what we've done with the current system!
I've still been plugging away at this game, but I've been stuck at #2 "Total Finesse" for awhile now, tied with the #1 score of 489. I only know of 2 points to get if I could perfect Acceptance VI and IX. I've been playing VI way too much, and I know the move I have to do, but I just can't do it in a clean run. And now I see the #1 score is 477. I could get down to 487, but I have no idea where else to get 10 more points. I've been playing through all of the other levels looking for a point or two, but can't get anything else. At least I finally bumped my endless score up to 6200.
Off topic, but kind of tangentially related: just saw this game on Greenlight. It's called Roundabout and it looks like Duet's weirder, more murderous PC indie cousin.
I'm going to sound really dumb but I've been dying ask, what is steam and kick starter, keep seeing them mentioned but have no idea what they are.
Steam is like the App Store for PC games essentially. Owned by Valve, it's an online store where you can purchase PC games and indies. There are others, but Steam is the biggest and pretty much every developer wants their game on Steam, because then you get exposure to the biggest audience on PC and thus bring in a lot more revenue. Big publishers can get their game on the store, but smaller indies like Roundabout can be submitted to Steam Greenlight, where the community vote on games they want to be sold on Steam. Kickstarter is a crowdfunding company, where many products, not just games, try to appeal to the masses and gather funds to make their game.
