I'm surprised I didn't find this sooner. I played this the day it came out, and I've started posting videos on my YouTube now. Just beat level 5 a few minutes ago!
You're right... we should post something. Since we are mainly porting and not creating new content, there is no real sense in "sneak peek", although... for the Steam version we could do one... We'll try to do it before Christmas... For now how about this cool image of two Dub Dash prototypes of the wheel, which were printed in 3D and then painted by hand : Do you like it?
Well, well, well. Looks pretty sweet! What if you could change the wheel design in-game? Like, unlockable wheels and models...
Alright, beat midnight sun. Anti headache at about 80 (RIP) and I skipped 35 to 61 on dubstep rock. Uploading these to youtube
We'd love to... let's see how Android and Steam will start in January and then we'll define the next steps in Dub Dash... currently iOS is not really developing as expected. We get extremely good feedback from all of you guys playing it, but the number of players is not sufficient to go on developing... the word is not spreading as good as expected, e.g., not really many GD players get to know of DD, which is really pity. Go on and spread the word for Dub Dash! That could help! We probably need to be more patient... Merchandise? Hey, possibly that could be a way to go to earn money to be able to go on with the development in the future. For now it was just a nice birthday present for us developers, but who knows what the future will bring. Btw. glowing in the dark is a really good idea... optionally. Congrats! And... never give up!
I have several questions... [1.] Is it intentional that the level and song "Dub Dash" is called Dub Dash? [2.] Is there any unused content? [3.] Did anything inspire you to make this or the content in the game? [4.] Who will be the next artist? [5.] Did you notice my new icon? [6.] Will there be DLC in the future? [7.] What part of development do your team take most pride for? That's all for now!
Yes, it is. It was originally the first track of the FULL game. Yes, there is. We have another two tracks and other cool mechanics in the pipeline waiting for the right moment to be released. For the Steam version there is a cool multiplayer feature. Sneak peek coming right away... In the beginning the main inspiration was making a game which features a fancy spherical rendering style. In the very first prototype one was running across the street and by getting further inspiration through games like Impossible Game, Geometry Dash or AudioSurf the idea for Dub Dash was born. We loved impossible game and GD but we were missing 3D and the fact that the mentioned games are not completely rhythm-based; DD is completely in sync with the beat. Enough for now? Well... it could be Waterflame... perhaps. Yeah! Just as you mentioned it! Any special story about it you wanna tell us? If the community grows and we are able to go on developing DD then at some point, yes! Hard to say since it is hard to pick one special thing out of it. Probably we are most proud of doing DD based on our own Incodra engine and not making another Unity or Cocos2D game. By having complete access to all engine parts, we are able to implement such cool things like the fancy spherical rendering right away. Thanks for your questions and thanks for supporting us and DD so far!
Sneak Peek: Dub Dash Multiplayer for Steam [1080p, 60fps] Hi there! After getting many requests, we have promised to give you some insights on the current development of Dub Dash. Now here it is: a sneak peek preview video of the Steam version coming out soon... probably end of January... featuring a multiplayer mode. The video shows a walkthrough of the Dub Dash track with 4 players playing Dub Dash at the same time. Believe me... it is so much fun playing it with friends on a huge screen. Multiplayer feature will be first out on Steam allowing up to 4 players for now. Enjoy! Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel P.S. We will publish this video on our YouTube channel in a few days, but you can watch it now already! I wish you all - who celebrate it - a great Christmas time!
Thanks for answering them! And about the multiplayer feature, will it come for IOS eventually? And this is the story behind my icon. http://store.steampowered.com/app/391540/ One last thing, since the beta version of Dub Dash was "Wacky World", were there any major changes with Wacky World?
No, multiplayer on iOS is not planned yet. On iPad PRO it could make sense. I'd have to check undertale in deep to understand the story. It was called "Wicked World" and regarding "major changes"??? Well... everything was changed... really everything! Wicked World was only a Flash prototype... extremely laggy. Now it is a natively implemented multi-platform game. Unfortunately we were not able to take the music track from Wicked World which was really phenomenal!
Undertale is a RPG game that goes very in depth with story and humor. And one last question, how many members are in your game development team?
Yes! I just finally beat helium in over 1100 attempts! I died once at 98 and dubstep Rock is almost twice as easy. Also steam version looks nice, I'll probably get that, another streamer wants to race me, but he hasn't even played yet.
I can imagine Incongra [ Sorry if spelt wrong ] using these songs in a Dub Dash level. http://youtu.be/DBu1__I_2pY [ Skip to 1:14 ] http://youtu.be/WwoCsaJ5w4A http://youtu.be/guBpnPY32s0 [ Skip to 0:31 ] http://youtu.be/gmSGmgffLXI [ Skip to 1:46 ]
