Got it. Thanks. I've seen it turn red before but I didn't realize I could interact with it. Are the red cocoons in any level other than while the Hunger Games missions are active? Can't seem to find any now that I want to compete the achievements.
How do people earn lots of money ? Done a fair few missions, bought some 'heavy guns' but my money is low as anything right now and i dont seem to be able to get enough money to get a better gun. Struggling with some of the later levels due to my poor shooter !
Have you gotten to Killing Fields yet? There is an arena there that you can fight in to earn money and you also get loot as a reward for winning. Make sure you sell all your unwanted loot instead of recycling it from your inventory screen. You will get a lot more money by selling it at Serenity. I was half way through the game before I realized I could sell it.
Really thinking of getting this one on sale, but a platformer without MFi support is a definite turn off.
I got it. I quite like it. I haven't played much and miss some things as background parallax scrolling, but it seems to have a lot of depth hidden under simple graphics. I'll give it a score when I play it more. On a side note, the screen on the iPad (iOS 7.1.2) is not truly rotated. The game is, but notifications and volume icon aren't. I don't know if it is a bug per se or has to do with how iOS 8.3/the game manages rotation, but I thought I'd let devs know (I know they're very active here).
The platforming isn't difficult. I would definitely give it a try for a dollar. I have a controller and use it for everything I can but I never wished for a controller while playing this game. The touch controls are great.
I can't find the Slaughter House code anywhere. I killed Castor a long time ago, but the code to his vault is nowhere to be found. Please help! I want that crystal! ###
Saweet! Thanks a truckload! Wow, that was a good idea on the devs part...just another reason why I love this game! ##
Awesome game! I just finished the last mission. I think this is one of just a handful of iOS games that I have actually played (or wanted to play) to the very end. It kept me interested, and that's a fairly hard thing to do! One thing I do have to ask is what is this El Dorado thing that someone was talking about a few pages back. After beating Masterblaster I didn't see anything with that name. Great job Angry Bugs! Love the game, and I hope there is more to come in future updates! Or maybe a sequel? I will gladly pay for that! And to those of you who are weary of trying this because of lack of mfi support, trust me, you do not need it one bit. This game has perfect on screen controls. Very responsive!
El Dorado is a secret vault. If you managed to get all the discs in the game, take a look at the one titled The Device. That's where you have to start.
Wow, I spent 2 straight hours playing this after picking it up at the sale price. Didn't think I'd like it, but it's a lot of fun. Was kinda surprised that there's no Game Center support, but there are in-game achievements. Seems like GC would be a nice addition. Drylands is a very immersive game. I really like the dark setting, and the similarities to Borderlands, with the variety of weapons and elemental effects. Lots of humor too =) Not sure if any seasoned players will remember this, but I got to a boss-type guy in the game, depleted his health, and now it wants me to "finish him". Shooting him doesn't do anything, and dashing with a knife or shield does a little damage, but his health then resets and I keep getting the "finish him" message. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.
I remember that guy. I just shot him until he died after it said finish him. Not sure why it's not working for you.
For any completionists out there playing this game, there are two achievements that are time sensitive. You have to complete them when the opportunity arises. You won't be able to complete them later in the game. It gave me a reason to play through a second time. Here they are with spoiler tags. Spoiler To get Piss Off you just have to talk to Ghost before you fight him in the arena at Killing Fields. He is leaning against a dumpster. To get Strange Red Cocoon you have to destroy three red cocoons and they only appear once in each of the Hunger Games side missions.
I just went there and there was no action icon that popped up or anything. I may have already been there and dug it up? Oh well... Thanks anyways!
It doesn't show up in your inventory but if you do have the device, go to Forbidden Highway and look for a vault door under the highway. It should be unlocked.
Map Icon Help searched the thread and didn't see this, but apologies if i missed it... when you buy the maps from the guy with the dog, and go to the travel overworld map, what do the icons stand for? i'm assuming the disc is any computer discs you haven't found. but what about the stars and the guns? thanks!
Yes, the disc icon is for disks in that map, the star is for crystals and the gun is for weapon stashes; some of these items are hidden from sight or at a hard to get area so you have to use the radar.
