i never played Driver but i saw the GBA version it's like GTA so anyone sure what Gameloft will make?

Yes, there is an 'free drive' mode where you are free to roam the open world cities (Miama, San Francisco and NY city, I believe). There isn't really anything to do in the free drive though, so there isn't much point to it. The main game consists of missions which are split up into chases, getaways etc. There are also some race and time trial modes as well. If you want anymore information, just research 'Driver 1'. There are many gameplay videos on Youtube. The gameplay should be exactly the same, with the only things different being the controls and maybe the graphics.
dont like the game. dont post. simple hah the only thing i did was free drive around, getting the cops attention and then making them chase you all around miami! miami was THE best. i didnt do a single mission (mainly because i couldnt pass the car park.. lol)
I like the game.. All games by Gameloft are good in terms of graphics. But they are too similar. Maybe Driver will deliver something new, but it's just a dream

No, no existing game engine is being used. They are using the same game engine from the original PS1 game, just adapted for the iPhone. No, it will just be 'Driver'. The original 'Driver' from PS1.
Are you sure? If I were you, I wouldn't say such great things about Gameloft.. Their games are just good-looking but have poor gameplay.. Like music pop-stars which have cute faces but all they can't sing good at all...
Well first of all, there's the title: 'Driver'. Then there is the trailer - the trailer from the original 'Driver' on PS1. And then there are San's (Gameloft rep) comments: This will be a straight port of the original game to the iPhone. There may be some small changes (i.e - controls, graphics) , but the game is going to be more or less the same. If it was a new game, they wouldn't call it 'Driver' and they wouldn't have the original trailer as the trailer.
For those who seem to think its GTA like, well its not, especially Driver 1. The sequel maybe (although as it was also on PS1, you could argue that it may have inspired GTA3). Driver focused on the cars, specifically chases and getaways. Here's a pretty good quote from the Wikipedia entry, here. What I liked most about the original was the controls and physics engine. Driving felt great and was seriously good fun. Chases with the cops were awesome and the pile ups and damage/mayhem you caused was pretty damn cool. I hope the directors mode allows youtube uploads. I know Gameloft have put that into Skate Nation, so I hope they've got it here too.
