Been waiting for this one! Downloading now.... blue rocket Well-Known Member Nov 27, 2013 541 0 16 #3 blue rocket, Dec 14, 2015 I think this game could be really great! It's not much more than almost a playable demo IMO but I like the physics, just wish there was more to it Skiproach Studio Well-Known Member Aug 7, 2010 94 0 0 http://www.skiproachstudio.com #4 Skiproach Studio, Dec 14, 2015 A little game explanation Hi, I feel I need to explain just a bit about the whole idea of this game and a bit of our history developing games and what we are coming from. Because, it is a bit of a experiment we are doing with Drift Zen Racer. We are a two man team and have been developing a good amount of games for the past 5 years now. Some have got good response, some non at all. Two years ago we developed our biggest game, Drift Club Racer 2. We spent a whole year making the racing game we felt would be really good, and we had big hopes for it. Drift Club Racer 1 did get well received, so now it was time to build upon that and deliver a much bigger game. What happened. It was a total bummer. Not a single review, no mentioning anywhere, we tried different things but no really coverage. Bad download numbers. The feeling... Aww! I have to mention, we are only making games in our spare time, we have our day jobs and a family with wife and kids, so time is precious OK, now Drift Zen Racer. The idea is to flip it all around, starting by making the simple logic, a car, a track, smoke and a score. See how the reactions are, and take it from there. See if you gamers like the first version, is there something to build upon on or... Yeah, it is a small game, but there are potential for it to grow. But as our situation are with not much time, we would rather deliver small games and build it up from there. The alternative are, we will not get anything out, and that's a shame now that we love to make games. This also means that we would be more than happy to get any ideas for future updates for the game. We know a lot of you have great ideas, if you feel like, please write them here. We hope you will try it out. Any comments are appreciated. A little side note, and a rather fun one, is that TA mentioned Drift Zen Racer last week on the frontpage, already more coverage than Drift Club Racer 2. So maybe we have something in our hands. This was just a little story from the real "indie" world and our story Cheers, Thanks for listening GPS Well-Known Member Dec 13, 2009 2,283 165 63 Australia #5 GPS, Dec 14, 2015 Happy to support this one for sure! Top score of 7 so far. Not sure how long my zen is gonna stay, ha! This is a really tight little game, great controls, definitely has that "one more go" feel. Enjoying it so far, nice one! VirtualBoyFreak Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Apr 26, 2011 4,801 85 48 Spain #6 VirtualBoyFreak, Dec 14, 2015 Funny, this made me download Drift Zen Racer AND Drift Club Racer 2 the latter seems great too. A pity it didn't get any reviews. Atm it's installing. We'll see how it goes. VirtualBoyFreak Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Apr 26, 2011 4,801 85 48 Spain #7 VirtualBoyFreak, Dec 14, 2015 This one is not my cup of tea. Maybe the old one from 2013 is. I'll let you know when it installs, because I got an error. In the meantime, here's a bug report: the screenshot shows how I see it on my old 4S. As you can see, it seems to be cut on the right, the score isn't shown well. Maybe it wasn't intended to run on a 4S and the screen size is that of the iPhone 5 and above, but it works quite fluent and with no hiccups at all... Drift Club Racer 2 is hands down my favorite iOS racing/drifting game. I was really bummed to hear that it didn't do well. As far as Drift Zen Racer goes, I still really dig it. Yea, it's not full of car customizations and tracks, but that's what DCR2 was for. This is more geared toward the "pick up and play" crowd. It's actually not too bad for killing a couple minutes tho. I still feel Skiproach has the overhead drifting down pat in their games. Like I said, I will support these guys on anything they do. I've been a supporter since the first DCR. I recommend anybody with an iPhone 5 or older to check out DCR2. (It doesn't play on the iPhone 6 at least for me.) It looks and plays great on 2X on the iPad Air 2 also. spedav Active Member May 24, 2011 31 0 6 #9 spedav, Dec 15, 2015 I just gave DCR2 a shot, after just finding out about these guys, and so far it's playing fine on my iPhone 6+. Screen flips a little weird at launch but nothing other than that. Skiproach Studio Well-Known Member Aug 7, 2010 94 0 0 http://www.skiproachstudio.com #11 Skiproach Studio, Dec 15, 2015 Yeah your right, it wasn't intended to run on older devices. But glad you tried it and it's running fluent on the 4S. Next update will support older screen sizes. At least so the graphic will look good and not cut off. I don't think iPhone 4 will be able to run it. Thanks Skiproach Studio Well-Known Member Aug 7, 2010 94 0 0 http://www.skiproachstudio.com #12 Skiproach Studio, Dec 15, 2015 Yes, this is weird, looks good on web, but on the TA app it's upside down. Have no idea whats going on. NOEN Well-Known Member Jul 31, 2012 3,245 0 0 U.S. #13 NOEN, Dec 15, 2015 Nice! Maybe it's just my phone then. Stustaff Well-Known Member Oct 28, 2010 101 0 0 #14 Stustaff, Dec 17, 2015 I really want to enjoy this. I'm just not finding it any fun, controls and graphics are good sound is fine. I just think that for me a number of choices damage the fmgameplay. I'd change 75% of the obstacles(crates, tire stacks, barriers) to be smashed when you drift through them, still damage car but keep the flow going. The other (shipping crates, cars, police) I'd keep as they are. The actual obstacles start to late and the first 10 seconds of every game are just boring. I'd also have the drifting be a little tighter(smaller circle) if that makes sense. Sorry I thought this was going to be a sweet little fun game and it's so close. Let me answer your questions. As mentioned above. We are on full steam updating the game.
