At its core, it's pretty much an Asian arcade racer (That's a thing right?) with some mild RPG elements. The story mode in a nutshell is that your a rookie racer coming on to the scene, trying to make a name for yourself. (The usual in racers.) What sets it apart is the mission system. There's several missions to complete in each city. So your doing more than just racing. Then there's the HUV (pretty much the bad guys). They will show up several times during a race and you have to slam into them until they pretty much explode. You can also call in friends during a race to help out with the HUV. What I like most about it is the art style. It's got this cool looking hand drawn cell shaded style to it. It definitely sets it apart from other racing games. The controls work well in the game also. Its fairly simple. Tap left to turn left and tap right to turn right, swipe left to drift left and so on. I also like how the car's suspension rolls with the turns. There's like over 100 vehicles and 5 classes in the game and all are upgradable. You have to collect parts in order to upgrade. Of course there are some negatives. It's F2P, so it has the usual schenanigans. Timers, multiple currencies, social integration, and car parts are few and far between, but if you can get past that, it's not a bad little game. Sure, it's a little rough around the edges with some misspelling and cheesy dialogue, but it's different and I like different. I've only got about an hour or so of playtime so far, so Things can change for the better or worse, but as of right now, I'd say it's worth a download. Drifting is done in a weird way. Collision detection is pretty bad. Cars will literally pass right through each other. Not enjoying this at all. I've heard that the game was originally sold and the F2P shenanigans began then, causing the game to lose much of its large following. I tried the PC game years ago and liked what little of it I played. When I saw this I was hoping it was a port, or at least a mobile take on the original. I liked the idea of a racing game set in an open world MMO framework. Oh well. I'll still give this a try, though. Might be decent on its own merit. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
