Played the first five levels. Positives: It's original It's beautiful It's simplistic It's fun It makes you smile Negatives: You get a bit of an unprofessional vibe from the graphics/UI It isn't JUST the last levels which require multiplayer. There's 48 levels, I believe. The last 6 require multiplayer, but it also looks like level 21, 26 and 32 require it. I'll give multiplayer imps when I get there, but as was mentioned earlier, since the game doesn't appear to be popular, there's a real chance that ill get to level 21 and won't be able to cintinue. Unfortunately every other level after 21 has the dreaded lock icon, so if I can't continue then ill either force Cloudpuff to buy it, or be stuck without the ability to finish the game. overall: I've only played 5 or 6 levels. It's beautiful. I'm going to say that if you're genuinely intrigued by this game, like I was, you probably won't regret picking it up.
You can get passed level 21, because as you play you unlock a few levels ahead, not just the next one. But you'll need others to reach the very last one.
Remember what I said? I bought it, it'll be free soon enough. Hope some of you grabbed it while it was free...
So how does the multiplayer levels work, do random people who are also on that level pop in your game? I played one of them earlier and it's lucky they can't hear me because every time I put a block down to where it obv needed to be, one of the other avatars kept picking it up and floating around With it, one even tried to take the bloody thing when I had hold if it, slightly more frustrating than fun as there's no way to communicate with each other what needs to be done, and I must have got two headstrong players who wanted to do it their way. It gave my husband a good laugh though cos I stropped off mumbling about not playing with people who snatch blocks off me.
The most recent update, ver. 1.3.4, changes this game to a free-to-try model. You can now play the first 9 levels for free, then you have to purchase the rest. "Full Game Unlock" IAP shows as $2.99 for me.
I don't think the current freemium scheme is very good..they should be offering at least the multiplayer levels for free so there will be lots of players helping each other.. I have tried to get past level 20 several times but no one joins me. Forever alone..
More people are playing this game and it is so freaking awesome. The soundtrack is genius. The later levels get challenging... But it's never frustrating.
As a... ...(first Week) Buyer I kinda feel now screwed by the current changes that are now out of the blue forcing me to literally rebuy the Game after less then two Months if I want to play it again. Sorry to say that but under the current given condition I did changed my Rating from 5/5 to 1/5 and can`t recommand it to anyone else simple because the risk seem to be to high that someone would buy the Game on Monday and can`t play it anymore on Tuesday judging by how things already changed in less then eight Weeks.
Where did you read that? I didn`t found any public announcement from the Developer or Mr. Etter about that topic?
At the FAQ bottom of the page http://etter.co/drei I feel your pain on the bait and switch but Drei is a great game and the devs should have communicated better on this but probably lack a mechanism to do so effectively. Here's to Cooperation in problem solving, in this case communication on the wtf price change
I can't be certain but I def read it somewhere, Facebook maybe or the website. Still a crappy thing, I've not updated yet.
You now get the first few levels free then pay to unlock the rest, but the dev has said that if people who paid mail him the iTunes receipt he will give a code to unlock the full game. I dunno if you delete then try to reinstall if you'll have to go the whole process again though. I've not updated as I read about the switch to free beforehand.
Yes, you likely will have to go through the whole process again if you remove the game from your device later on. I've been in this situation with other apps, and have done the emailed-receipt-receive-a-code thing. When the app has been later removed again then returned to my device, "restore purchases" didn't work for developer-generated code exceptions. It's due to the way IAP works and is logged on Apple's side. In all cases so far the developer has refused to give me a second exception even though I proved I purchased the game, usually at full price too. Developers who have so little respect for their paying customers deserve all the one star ratings they get.
The app checks if you have played it already before this update. If so it unlocks all levels for free. That's why the Dev says you should e-mail receipt to them in case you have deleted app or reset iPad, in which case there is no way for the app to know if you have played it previously. It's a common problem on iOS. Apple should do something about this. Great games like Drei get bad feedback because of this now, not so fair.
Best co-op game EVER! I am so addicted to this game. The simplicity of design and gameplay is near perfect. I need more levels!
