My god. Definite insta-buy, but has the app store really come to this? Where a game with such high graphical assets as these can sell for a buck?
Yup. Sad, really. I guess the iPad has less of this, as it's prohibitively expensive and requires more of a steady income to maintain (device, accessories, apps, etc). It's strange that developers have snubbed the iPad over the iPhone and iPod touch. Had more developers jumped over toipad initially, to make it a stronger platform (which drives up user base vs going with a higher, but lower paying user base) things might be different. Unfortunately, the iPad is the after thought platform...which sucks because it's also the most powerful and capable of the iOS trio.
I think you're overstating this a bit. I mean, this was made by one guy, and its gonna have a 0.99 launch price, so I don't know how you can expect so much from it. Graphics don't make a game, you know. Don't get me wrong, the trailer is sick, and I really hope that the game is awesome in terms of story and gameplay as well, I'm just not expecting much.
via pocketgamer: dream:scape's already been submitted to Apple, so should be out on the App Store soon. now the question is about the support 3gs?
It has already been said in the thread that it's been submitted. Also, it said, as it's running same engine as Epic Citadel/Infinity Blade, however that performs on your device will be an indicator as to how well this one will work.
Those retina screenshots look nice. Not quite as good as the environment in Infinity Blade, but the fact that you can explore this game world more than makes up for it.
It still amazes me at what these devs can come up with the Unreal Engine especially this on a phone is just amazing.
Heavy Rain was one of the best games I have ever played. Even though there's not much you can do after you beat it, it was definitely worth it. Such a good story, it's kind of like an interactive movie. I can't wait for the move to release. My all time favorite game.
"Will it be a universal app, or will there be separate downloads for the iPhone and iPad? I'm still factoring out all the possibilities with iPad and iPad 2, so for now it will be a universal app. Look for a more full-tilt version for iPad sometime in the (hopefully) near-future." This is vague.
