Space Colony, we have a few titles that attempt to match this game, but this game was gold. Freelancer, because reasons.
~ Oceanhorn 2 ~ Goblin Sword 2 ~ A new Ridge Racer These are most likely just a dream... ~ The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past ~ The New Super Mario Bros.
Devil May Cry, all of them! Well, skip the second one. Also, both Diablo and Diablo II. Final Fantasy X would be a dream as well. But I guess there's no dreaming higher than Kotor 3, as has been said previously on this thread. Why did they have to go the MMO route??
I would love to see quality MMORPGS similar to Ultima Online, DAoC (which basically has a mobile game coming in the form of Albion) or even Runescape or WoW clones. O&C used to be good and a game very similar to it could be amazing with the right decisions devs and marketing. I love playing on my phone but with tablets you could really make some awesome MMOs but it seems the market isn't right for any to do very well, but I hope that will change. I'll guess we will know with Albions release. Otherwise I would love a Diablo scale ARPG, a full scale western RPG like ES but on the real ES level budget. DMC would be rad on mobile as far as action games go, too... Really though, I am most iterated at what mobile itself will come up with when regarding the above mentioned games and others though; CoC brought in more cash than any game in history, with Candy Crush coming close, in a single year. So I am just wondering what will happen for real gamers that takes the "anyone can play" accessibility that phones provide with the premium (or very high quality gamers game that's f2p or pay to unlock etc) quality stuff and new ideas and takes on every genre. It's still actually a young market, and one that's gaining dedicated players on a daily basis, so even though we feel like we have seen its full evolution, who knows what will come with new tech, players, cash and devs and publishers and etc etc etc..... Rambling end, sorry
Oh and a never going to happen aside from "Pokemon GO!" Would be all the Pokemon games with interchangeable trading.
I want to play Darkest Dungeon ,which I believe may come out for the ios this year. I would also love to play The Last Guardian by the maker of ICO. I also dream about playing Infinity Blade: Dungeons To think the game will never see the light of day is too sad for words.
Yeah, I hope you're right, that we're in the beginning of something beautiful. I'm not too optimistic though, I fear the allure of ca$h will prove to be the downfall of gaming as we know it. But it's still too early to tell, right, and as of now, there are a lot of great games available to us, for which I'm grateful. Also agree that's a pity the Pokemon games will never show up on the App Store, they were always a guilty pleasure of mine.
Don't feel guilty; Pokemon consists of high quality games where even what they recycle is refined and expanded every generation. I'll never grow out of it, and even have my son watching the anime til he is old enough to play the games! And I totally understand the two faces of cash, evil and benevolence, having the capacity to take away from gaming. Same with anything that has art within its creation; that which takes multiple facets together, artistic and monetary, to bring you the experience. I am a musician, and like music etc, it's all about balance, and mobile hasn't found that yet, at least not completely. Eventually we will see high quality games that also make money by appealing to casual and hardcore, whales and the rest of us at once in the same game. How that's done exactly, especially from genre to genre, is yet to be seen, really If I could tell ya how I wouldn't be posting on a message board about it lol. And that's the thing; we have seen certain games do well while in a vacuum, and it's proven mobile has more cash flow than possibly any other gaming market there is. Now, it needs to spread out a bit, and as mechanics, both monetary and otherwise, shift and evolve, we will see good things, I am sure of it. What it will be, and how much bad will come with the good, who knows, but I am more than down for the ride!
I think Marvel Future Fight is very fair in terms of f2p elements. Imagine something aling those lines, but more "engrossing", without timers etc.
I like the way you think, thanks for that. I'll grant you, its an exciting time to be a mobile gamer, things advance so fast I can never catch up with whats happening. Were it nor for TA, though, and I'd certainly be stuck in the dark ages. But it is indeed interesting to wonder what the future holds, since this is such a young industry. It seems, from reading forums online, that most people still think of mobile games as if they were the "snake" games from the old phones, or something like that. Not that I can blame them, but who knows what will happen when people understand the true potential of mobile. Regarding Pokemon, yeah, they're brilliant games, it's just that I used to get a bit of stick for playing them when I was younger, as the general consensus seemed to be it was a kid's thing. Not that I let anyone get in the way of my enjoyment, I'd just avoid mentioning Pokemon on my conversations Good on you for sharing with your son, there's nothing quite like the father-son relationship. May I ask how old is he? I'd like to know, because I think a lot about at what age should I introduce gaming to my 17-month-old, and what should I let him play. My wife freaks out about any game with violence, and I agree with her to a certain extent, but the truth is, one of my favorite games when I was a child, PoP, was certainly very gory, and no one was freaking out about me playing it. Never mind Carmageddon, Gta, Diablo, etc, which arrived few years later. I and many others managed to play all those games without going on a murderous rampage, but try explaining that to an educational psychologist (aka, wife).
when I was a kid I played some digging game. But not like any of these digging games on the store.. It was a bit like an archeology digging game. I can't remember the rest of it. This was on like BBC computers or something.
Just remembered a game I'd love to replay, and would probably be a great fit for mobile, does anyone remember Freedom Force? You took on the mantle of a group of superheroes, and it was just great fun taking advantage of the different super-powers, like picking up cars, or being super-fast. If I remember correctly, you could even create your own super-hero.
