I agree! It's the only game my 5 year old has maintained interest in and he checks on "his dragons" at least a few times a day. My daughter begged me since I got it on the iPhone to put it on my iPod for her but I couldn't at the time because I had no clue how to add her to GC. Now she has her own and my son checks hers too. It's very cute for the kids and us.
I got the epic on Friday when they updated. Had a few fails as with the regular cave but I did end up with a reindeer out of it as well as a moon. However, as usual with my rare dragon pattern it was with two brand new fire/storm. So I have no clue if maybe I would have gotten it with the old cave anyway. My second and third reindeer came from there too. Now I have air/sandstorm to see if I can get a second one. It's my test. So honestly, I'm not sure if the epic is so epic or just boosts our chances because now we have two caves. And I totally agree with girlpower. Concentrate on the reindeer for now since in two weeks or so it may vanish like the bone. Cold/swamp worked for me once and cold/willow was a fail a few times until I switched to my second willow dragon. Then it worked. On a side note....I'm getting sick of the snow.
I forget how dragonvale looks without the snow now. All my buildings have their roofs covered with snow so it all looks generically the same design-wise. I've been stuck on sun forever now, (ended up breeding 3 rainbows! and a moon) Have a new 48hr timer though off fire/storm and its my first fire/storm attempt so hopefully it goes well. My 3rd rainbow and moon was off of bluefire/crystal combo.
Hmm.....still no go huh! Might be good to have a break in between....but as mentioned to Losh, because this one is temporary....keep at it mate.....did you try ice/willow....seems either cold/willow and for me ice/willow were good, even though I know cold/willow didn't work for you..... Have you had a read of dragon wiki to see what others are using, I will find go find the link and re edit it in here for ya I know if I didn't have this one yet, and with my randomness on steroids DV app, I would be breeding back to back in both caves and saving all gems in case I had to end up buying one......see what this game has reduced me to! Manic or maniac.....both? GRR. Nope, still evading me. 3 snows now. Tried Fire/Storm as a break and got a 5 hour fail so back to reindeer after this. No, I haven't bought the epicfail cave yet, will do when I've saved the gems. Thanks for the tips, sure I'll get it sooner or later, just have to be patient..
Haha, if Losh is anything like me...reversing the combo didn't work either. Nor did new mud and lvl 7 air, both raised to lvl 10 first. I am sure I read someone said they used a lvl 10 air/lvl 4 mud and it worked? 'Once' I get the sun one......I might breed a new mud and air, and try the 10/4 lvls.....part of me keeps wondering if this combo just doesn't want to work for me cause I literally have tried it to death.....but I have also tried with air/tree, air/quake and whatever else I heard about.....I keep going back to air/mud and combo in reverse purely because the fail times are the shortest...the worst part in saying this is the fact that a different combo may serve me better and I could of had it by now if I stuck with something else....even taking into account longer fail times, but less of them....hope this makes sense? That's the frustration of this app, I always feel like I am at a crossroads...which way to go over and over GRR!

Every last one I finally got my sandstorm dragon, and was awarded the "Every Last One" achievement, even though I don't have any rainbow dragons yet. I do have every other type of dragon, though. I guess rainbow isn't a requirement for that one.
Hey folks! New to this forum, but had to ask: Does leveling a Rainbow to 10 give a credit to all shrines? I have two Rainbows, and am thinking breeding them would be slow, but would save me a chunk of change!
WHOO HOO fingers crossed for a sun dragon Oh my goodness, just hurried up my dragons with a gem before going to bed...trying to think what to use this time... so thought I would try crystal/blue fire as I had been putting Bluey first previously......bam 48 hrs....will be an anxious wait this time.....as much as I adore it, I don't want another moon....but bit worried cause this is almost exactly the same time I bred my moon but with the storm/sonic combo......as the countdown gets closer, I may buckle and use some gems this time, the suspense may be too much and you guys know my unlucky track record, so if it's not a sun.....I may 'cry me a river' This time the deed took place in the epic cave.....but I got my moon and both reindeer in the original cave.....I tried my sonic/storm (reversed this time) again in the hope it may work again, but not so far. I think I could almost handle just having that THORN left to get if this ends up being a sun......oh and of course I still would like a second rainbow.....got an empty habitat still waiting for one .....sheesh I am getting ahead of myself.....gone a bit dizzy with excitement lol.....pocket potions will help get me through the wait...thanks to bluangl27 PS not sure if this would make a difference or not, but I did have some dragon treats planted at the time of breeding.....just a thought, but probably unfounded
If you email apple (not sure of address, as I had to search their website at the time) and quote your receipt number they should be able to credit you straight back (they have done before for me with an app that I had an issue with) I had paid using credit from an iTunes gift card, so it was real easy for them to rectify....luckily I haven't ever had this happen, but will be watching very carefully.....good luck either way though....may the force be with you
I'm going to try apple too @girlpower. Don't know if they will help since it says in-app have to deal with the developer. Still haven't heard back from backflip. It's irritating because I would never ever spend that much on any game. Even that purchase I was pushing myself. Meh. And yay for anothe 48!!! Whohooo!!! Better be that sun! I'm so happy for you! Pocket potions keeps me sane....
Been trying for a sandstorm over a month now, usually using air-mud or fog-earth because this is the quickest breeding time (2,6 or 8hrs) any suggestions??? EPICAS
