So my understanding is that there is a race between light and dark and once the race is finished and a winner declared, we will no longer be able to contribute magic points to either side and any rewards we have achieved will be locked in. Since Light is winning, don't we all want to start focusing on Dark? This will extend the length of time the race goes on, allowing us more time to contribute our magic to obtain more rewards.
Once light is complete we will still be able to contribute to dark, but the light habitat will not be upgraded further.
I'm about 2700/9999 for the next tier of the light habitat. What will happen to the magic spent if the race is over before I complete it? What's the best and fastest way to earn magic?
Apparently spamming bushes and breeding plant dragons always gives at least one magic point. If you can spare the time.
My guess is that if light wins, which seems likely, you will lose any magic you have casted to light. But BFS has not stated what happens so no one can say for sure.
Well, stuff just got fun! Light won, I got 2 Rift dragon eggs, giant habitat (holds five), and a pedasta). Rift dragons earn 141 at level 15. Bred them together and got a Light dragon (10 hour incubation and lovely graphics). There are new dragons to breed - Sand, Meadow, Glass, Luminous (that I can remember off the top of my head). I played around and bred the Light dragon to a Paper dragon and got a Rainbow (blew 39 gems because I was excited it might be a new dragon, ouch!).
Yes, it's exciting. I love the Rift dragon. Truly beautiful art. Light dragon is not bad either. Bred it with fire. Not sure what I'm going to get.
Love the new light dragons. The only problem I foresee is space. Since the combo light dragons can go in regular habitats, it feels like they released an entire new set without giving us more habitats.
Light and Dark Dragons Got all of my light dragons and see a lot of folks doing great (gotta make room for the dark dragons soon). I posted some of my DragonVale islands online. Hey Ebb, For some reason you've disappeared from my friend list for the most part in Game Center. Every once in a blue moon you reappear but not often. Anyway, just wanted you to know why you haven't gotten gems from me much lately. It all started with the update that started the "event". You're the only one this happens with.
That's alright, jtfields. It's hard to give and collect gem with my iPad crashing within a second or two. I can't even visit friends' islands anymore. If anyone knows how to upload their islands here or on my website, maybe it won't be so bad.

only 1 dart rift How do you get a second dark rift if your over level 20??????? of course without paying 3650 gems
I don't think you can breed a second dark rift since it was a timed limited dragon and they closed the window Nov 21
I am truly surprised that they got rid of rift dragons so abruptly. We got 2 days warning that rift island and dragons are going. Feels like BFS staff are making decisions on the fly. I was fortunate to get 2 rift dragons from each side, so I can breed more but feel bad for people who had one and didn't get a chance to get more. I think that light rift dragon is one of the best they have come up with. Most light dragons are excellent. Dark dragons is where BFS dropped the ball a bit. Nightshade is awesome but the rest are too small and not as sharp. Watch dragon has to be leveled to 20 to be visible at all. Overall though it was a great release and we have some nice dragons to look forward to.
