At least there is still possibility to breed limited dragons if you have two already. I managed to breed 2 motleys after 4 attempts which is not bad.
I was reading in another forum that the new breeding rules and method of calculating the new earnings rates greatly simplifies the game coding. I noticed before the update that DV took up 1.2GB of space on my iPhone. Since the update its dropped to 180MB. That's a huge drop and worth dealing with the changes to me. The amount of space DV hogged was beginning to be a problem for me.
Code is tiny. KB, maybe a few MB max. The only way to make that kind of size change is multimedia content.
Breeding Sandbox I noticed this morning that the Breeding Sandbox has been upgraded, and that most of it has disappeared! I wanted to see if there was a combo that would get me Zombie, Bone and Ghost but that page no longer exists Does anyone have any inside knowledge on if the other pages will be restored? I looked yesterday, for a combo that gave me Bone and Ghost but didn't bother writing the results down as both breeding cave and island were busy for the next 8 hours or more at that stage. Dammit. Oh well, at least they're still giving out basic combos - meteor and pollen for zombie.
So is it worth it to put magic into say, light, if you already received the first reward? Or to switch and go for dark to get the habitat and egg as well? What's the second reward tier looking like? Edit: and what are the new breeding rules?
The changes to the breeding rule are insidiously cruel - you can no longer breed together 2 identical dragons and get a guaranteed result. Hate this. I am also curious as to your first question. I have now unlocked the large habitat for light. Should I keep going to unlock the next light reward (3 dragon eggs) or is it now a good idea to pour some magic into dark? Oh, and all my DV friends, I keep hitting "clear" by accident when receiving gifts so I sometimes miss who sent me gifts. I AM SORRY. I love you all and try to faithfully return all gems (game center ID - JMASH).
I don't like this either but I don't see it as terrible as some do (I've read where some players are quitting the game over this). If you breed two identical dragons together, even expired limited ones, you will still eventually get one it just now may take longer. My strategy has always been to have one of each regular dragon and two of each limited and Epics. This doesn't change my strategy except now I'm not sure if there is an advantage of keeping two of a permanent Epic.
My dark habitat is lvl 3 and light is lvl 2. If light goes past dark again i will put everything into light from now on
Finally bred a meteor to get a Zombie! Lately, two of my DV friends disappeared from my gifting list, but they are still my friends on Game Center. I already deleted and reinstalled the app to try and get them back on my list, but it didn't work. Anyone know how to fix this problem?
You better get going on that Zombie. The odds are low. I got lucky and got one on my 4th try but I haven't been able to get another despite constantly breeding and even using gems to speed up fails. I'm having a similar problem as you with one GC friend. He/she still gifts me gems but isn't on my list anymore for me to return the favor. This is someone I've been trading gems with for well over a year.
Same thing happened to me! Friend is still on Game Center...and my friend list on HS, but has disappeared from Dragonvale friend list
Sorry to hear that you guys have the same problem. It makes me feels so bad because they send me gems regularly, but at the same time I can't do anything about it. I hope the devs fix it.
