How do you fix the bug in the game where it does not let you send a gem gift to certain people? The send button has been greyed out for WEEKS, but I can still receive gems from those people. This is happening with at least 2 people on my friends list. The send button is never active for them.
Hen Have you powered off/on your device, then check Game Center, that the two friends are still listed. Check to make sure they still have Dragonvale as a game (they may have stopped playing and deleted it). Now go to Dragonvale and check those 2 friends when you next have gems available to gift. If they still showed greyed out...then it's time to contact BackFlip support for Dragonvale.
Well, it looks like I failed to get the Sapphire goal. Just got 12 and 11 hour fails...making it way over midnight. Oh, well. A goal I'll have to finish next year.
Ok, I've decided to change strategies.... No more trying for gems goals on dragons I already have. My effort will concentrate on Autumn and Double Rainbow with Autumn being primary. So EBI will be Gift+Air for Autumn/Double ...and cave with Smoke+Snow for Autumn. Using those combos cause the others just weren't doing it for me. Have tried completely quitting out of Dragonvale and powering off the device. Turned it back on and checked Game Center. Both are still listed as friends in Game Center. Went into Dragonvale, opened up the Social page, and still do not see either of them on the "friends" tab. However they still show up on the "gifts" tab because I still receive gems from them but cannot send them gems because the "free gift" button is still greyed out. (I have 3 gems left to give out at the moment) Will contact Backflip support. Wish me luck! EDIT: Yay! It's fixed! I had to uninstall and reinstall Dragonvale. Nice!! I was breeding Blazing & Evergreen for a chance to Autumn, Rainbow or Double Rainbow. Finally got my Autumn and Rainbow. Still trying for Double Rainbow. Now I'm trying Iron & Air to get a Bronze.
BFS is teasing on their Facebook page that "Something new" and "Something magical" is coming to DV. Sounds like we may be in for a big update soon.
Whatever it is I hope it's free of game breaking bugs we've seen recently. May be they will optimize the game too not to be so bloody laggy.
This 'new' thing they're advertising is one of the few things keeping me from quitting .. I got my 2 Autumns, just needing the egg, 30 billion + park value More lvl 20 drags than I can count. Been zzzzing on this game for months... C'mon BFS bring something good and stimulating!
I've got all the dragons and eggs myself so I'm out of stuff to do in the game too. But "More lvl 20 drags than I can count" is impressive. I haven't even bothered with trying to lvl 20 a dragon. Too expensive. I keep one of every dragon on display so I don't earn as much cash as those who just display a ton of Epic dragons.
BFS posted another teaser stating "Guess what's coming to DragonVale" showing a picture of some sort of portal with shadows of two odd looking dragons inside the portal and a starry background. The guesses I've seen range from Zodiac Dragons to a new separate world. Some have also mentioned that it could be related to the "Scar of the World" which I guess is mentioned in the descriptions of several of the dragons and decorations. Will be interesting to see what it is.
I lied, I only have 18 lvl 20 drags. I have a feeling the surprise will be either another legendary or another world. Hopefully both!
Okay, the update is out for Android but not iOS. Apparently it adds a lot if content. There is a new portal that involves a Rift Dragon(s) (not sure if that is a single dragon or a new class of dragons). Also a new currency is introduced called Magic that allows you to alter things in your park. There is a new 9th island and goals for the shrines that pay out a lot of food and diamonds (you automatically get them if you already have gold shrines). I may be off on some of the details, this is just the best I could gather. Apparently the iOS update is a couple of days away.
