If I'm not mistaken, when you breed any two different Olympus dragons you have around a 98% chance of getting the lower "ranking" dragon. You can tell the ranking by price in the market. The rankings are, lowest to highest, Bronze, Silver, Cyclops and Gold. So you are actually better off using non-Oly combos to get your Gold Olympus as you still have only the same 2% chance of getting a Gold Oly but the fail times will be much shorter. Conversely, breeding a Gold Oly with a Cyclops is an excellent way to get your second Cyclops as you have a 98% chance of getting a Cyclops with that combo. This is opposite of the Treasure dragons by the way. When you breed two different Treasure dragons you have a 50/50 chance of getting either regardless of "rank".
Finally a Cyclops cooking on the island. Annoyingly hard to catch, but still not as elusive as the Frostfire was for me way back when... Cactus/Rust was a success for me this time and believe me, I have tried EVERY suggested combo a gazillion times.
My birthstone is in the market! Yay! Down side, it looks like BS just slapped a few amethysts on its back and called it a day. I'm quite disappointed... I was thinking it would be a purple dragon with more feminine characteristics since Amethyst sounds more girlier to me than the other gemstone names.
Got my first cyclops with love and rust on the third try. Got second cyclops on first try with gold oly and cyclops! Still no luck on platinum though
I also got my 2nd cyclops on my 1st try with gold oly/cyclops. Amethyst is the colour of royalty, I was hoping for more 'grandeur' with this dragon

First try with Hail/Sonic got me my first Amethyst! I'm happy that I got my birthstone this early (and is the first time that this has happened to me with a gemstone dragon), yet sad since Amethyst is not what I hoped it would be. BS must be taunting me... @Timeless: I'm so glad I'm not the only one thinking this way! I kept thinking I am being too critical about its design since I'm a February baby But in any case, good luck with Amethyst everyone!
I have a feeling that next month's birthstone will be feminine looking - Aquamarine. That's my stone, and I think she'll be a swimmer too Side note - got my first Amethyst on my first try

I like one one on the island, one egg and one in Hibernation (and I know they can't breed, I just want one of every dragon in my hibernation cave, it's like a display case)
Not so lucky for me so glad to see so many successes early on with the amethyst dragon however my first attempt has resulted in a sun/moon fail and my cave is tied up with my gold egg breeding so no reproducing for me for the next two days!!
Also managed to get my 2nd Amethyst for my display egg. Only this time, it's with the updated 23 hour breeding time instead of the original 24 hour (upgraded cave). Thanks for the early b-day present(s) Backflip! Back to getting display eggs for Platinum, Gold, Cyclops, Gold Oly and Seasonal then! Still need a 2nd one for Gold Oly and Seasonal too! @Crusty: What combo did you use for your Seasonal?
AK I thought someone would ask me that! I think it was ash and smoke, I have tried so many combos..... I decided to try some of the newer dragons as I reckoned my older dragons wee 'seasoned out' my original combo for my first seasonal was blazing and willow. good luck!
