Still, I think they need to change some aspects of the random weirdness but at least this pushed me a bit to keep trying. On the rainbow note, my 5 year old son got that one and I have no clue who he used. He loves the game more than I do and checks/ breeds when he can get the phone from me. Same goes for sandstorm and bone. He's luckier than me.
No, not sun and moon, I've already got a moon dragon. These are dragons with the new sticker thing, but their names are just ??? the dragons are both black and white, although each is either more black or more white. The flag is like yin yang, so that's probably which dragon it is.
No, I don't have them in my app yet either? Quiet frankly, I am not in a hurry anyway, just means another two that I can't get...that will increase it to 5 Have they increased the habitat allowance to accommodate these or do they slot into what we already have....time to expand this feature devs?

Okay so I don't know why I thought this whole time i would be getting a moon dragon, but it turns out it's a sun egg. I'm thinking there might be a linkage with the type of egg, and the time of day you breed your dragons. Cuz i remember specifically i did this between 5 am to 6 am, so at the break of dawn. And in the egg description for sun dragons it says "Descendants of these original dragons are so rare they even require special conditions to be bred at all!" Do you think these "special conditions" are that you have to breed your dragons at the break of dawn? And maybe the reason people are failing so much is because they're usually not up at 5 am in the morning? I don't know....just speculating.... hope it helps but don't kill me >_< Could be completely wrong. Maybe there's a specific window of time you have to breed....and thats why it's so hard to get it right. Has anyone gotten a moon or sun egg in the middle of the day? Just wondering...
Yay I have finally been awarded all the 15 achievements. I also haven't see any new black and white dragons. They sound good though. Only problem is that most of us will not have room for new habitats. We will probably need to sell off things to make room. Maybe it is a good time for Backflip to let us have a new island to build up. I do like the trading dragon idea that has been suggested by other forum friends. Narakai
I'm not convinced that the sun and moon dragons are really that "rare" It took me weeks to get the rainbow dragon, and only a few days to get the sun and moon dragons. I first tried storm and mud a few times and ended up getting a crystal and had to wait a whole day, then I tried firefly and cold once, fire and storm once, and then I went back to storm and mud and got the 48h waiting period That happened around 4pm I think it was, it ended up being a moon dragon. Then I tried another combo, and got a storm dragon, then the very next try I got a sun dragon...bred it at 12.30am So I'm almost certain AM = sun and PM = moon. We need a Christmas tree dragon decked out in fairy lights and tinsel..that'd be so cute for Xmas. Are you all really irratated about the habitat limit? I am a little bit I guess but I have about 8 rainbow dragon habitats simply because they look pretty, even though I only have 1 rainbow dragon.. I could still delete 7 rainbow habitats and have hoards of room for more habitats, You all must have heaps of doubles..I've only got one or two doubles..I have 2 bones..didn't mean too..I saw everyone on here saying how hard it was to get a bone dragon so I bred the combo 4 times and sped it up with gems and had 4 eggs in my incubator,then when they hatched 3/4 ended up being bone dragons and I deleted 1 and kept two in case I wanted to breed them later, but I doubt it..there's really no reason to have doubles of any basic dragons, doubles are only good really for rainbows, moons, suns, and maybe blue fire, due to Money reasons I reckon. I still haven't tried for a blue fire or a sandstorm yet..they aren't very unique so I didnt bother,they are just a recolor of fire and air... didn't bother with the scorch either, accidentally bred it. Kinda wouldn't mind getting them to get the achievement though, because soon enough they will add so many dragons it'll be near impossible to get.
I finally bred a sandstorm after a week or so of trying. My successful combination was a level 10 air and level 4 mud. Got it in the 4th try with that combination. I then moved on to sun/moon using blue fire/storm wih no success, then lightning/cold and then a little over an hour ago I bred a level 10 storm and a level 9 lightning and got my first 48 hour timer. I had meant to do cold/lightning again but picked the storm instead without realising it. Now I just have the long wait to find out what it is Cheers, Obs
I am doing the happy dance!!!!!! I had just about had it with this game. Been trying for Sandstorm for weeks while alternating try's for Sun & Moon. I even broke down & bought gems- all to no avail. It wasn't fun anymore & I didn't play all day. Then thought I'd give it 1 more try before turning in for the nite. I have tried Air & all different types of earth element dragons in my quest for a Sandstorm. Tonight I thought I'd try reversing them & bred a Moss 10 & Air 10 &.........<drum roll>. IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!! I am reenergized & hopeful that Moon & Sun are in my future. A lot of us are really frustrated with the randomness of this game, but don't give up! I would love for backflip to add a new island. Honestly I think they should increase the max level. They should make new islands, more missions, more habitats, and increase the level from 20 to like 25 or 30 just to make it more fun and challenging as if it isn't already getting these new dragons. But in terms of dragons they're coming out with dragons at a pretty good rate, so I am very happy with the new dragon every month or so.
I emailed Backflip Studios today Hi everyone, Well I said I was going to do so and today I have sent an email off to BS. I have outlined the fact that a number of us are feeling the frustration of the random aspect being rather erratic,(don't mind random, but it's not very even across the playing field) Also suggested it was time to lift the level beyond 20, release another Island, lift the total habitats above 18 (especially if they are just going to release new dragons) and a few decorations Suggested a second breeding cave and upgraded nursery to accomodate this request. Last but not least, I suggested many of us thought it would be nice if we could either gift or trade our unwanted dragons with our GC friends. Now those of you who don't think this game is too random, I know some don't....that's fine and maybe you have been luckier than others getting your dragons, or haven't been playing or trying as long as some.....but this email was to be the voice for those who have been genuinely been trying for weeks to get something and have posted their frustrations on this forum. Good job, and to reiterate what narakai said, thanks on behalf of everyone. This has worked before. The sun and moon dragons were likely added as a direct result of an email sent to backflip with the link to another forum - one all about dragons people want on the game. Based on this, dragon trading might be added as well, as it has been brought to backflips attention. Finally!!!!! After months of playing for hours, and trying every listed successful combo over and over last week I finally got my rainbow whilw trying for a sun or moon, (lv 10 fire & lv10 storm). Then lo and behold using the same combo the very next dragon I got was Moon, five more unseccesful attempts and I now have another 48hr breeding time.......I really hope it's a Sun, I only need Sandstorm then to complete the current set! I was so ready giving up! Hang in there folks it will happen eventually....oh and for those who want stats, all were bred with the above combo, I already had all the habitats and I have never bought a single gem.
Oh...wish I knew that before I emailed BS, as I have mentioned these two dragons in my email hope they don't think I'm so frustrated that I am making things up now too, probably not the best timing all around
Don't worry Girlpower. You brought a lot of valuable information to backflip about the game on consensus of members so I doubt they would focus too much on the hoax dragons. They may take them up as ideas for extra dragons for us in the game. You may well have given the developers a good theme to work on..... I hope they listen to you. I read all your posts and you are probably the one member who keeps this forum so well advised. You have a lovely way of easing the frustration of others. I too emailed Backflip with requests for more habitats and possibly another island. My grandsons love this game but are becoming less interested due to lack of habitats to place some failed breedings. Dragonvale is an awesome game but once you've reached the highest you can go and then to have 'nearly' impossible rare dagons to breed children (and some adults) lose interest. I hope they take the advice and extend the game features. I too love the game.
