According to the Sandbox the odds of getting an Equinox are 3.5% which is not high. If statistics had held up, you would have 1.75 Equinox Dragons by now. Sucks when they give you such a short amount of time to get something with such a low percentage of success. The Silver has a 2% chance and I know I've bred well over 100 times trying to get one and still no luck. I should state that I have know idea how the Sandbox comes up with these percentages (other than breeding over and over and tracking the results.)
Hi TexasTed! Good luck on your Equinox. I just tried the Simulator in the DragonVale Breeding Sandbox. I set it to breed 100 times using Blazing + Water. I simulated 5 times and got 4, 1, 4, 2 & 1. I'm hoping that's not right. That's 12 Equinox in 500 breedings .
After two breeds with Equinox/Solstice, I got two Solstice. Switched to a Equinox/Blue Moon, got another Blue Moon. Argh. I want my second Equinox!
I have a second equinox breeding with equinox/blue moon, and I have what will be either gold, rainbow or seasonal with paper/chrome. Really hope it's seasonal!

Holy crap! Just finished getting my shrines all gold, and thought I'd level my first dragon to level 20. I had 10.2m food saved up. It cost about 10m food! Finally have an ugly crown on my Frosty! He now earns 240/Min.
Congrats on your first royal dragon. I have enough coins/food to crown my first 2 Panlongs, Chuck and Cookie. Have decided they deserve the royal treatment first since they are the "parents" of my other 46 Panlongs. Can't decide if I should go ahead and covert the coins to food now or wait and see if we get an level increase and more habitats.
Wow, that's crazy. I have almost $800 million saved up and that's not even enough for two level 20 dragons! Not even gonna mess with it, I have three silver shrines left that still need to be made gold (can knock them out simultaneously with Bloom Dragons.) I'm not going to work at it though unless I run out of things to do including my egg collection. Basically, I don't want to blow through all that coin (and XP) only to have new levels introduced. That's exactly what happened the last time when the game went from 30 levels to 35, I had literally gotten my 50th level 15 Panlong less than a week earlier and was pretty much out of coin. Not sure if we'll be getting more levels though. The game already seems to take way too long to load and briefly pauses every 60 seconds or so on my iPhone 4. It's even worse on my son's old iPod Touch.
Still trying for Equinox, anyone else? I burned through my gems with no success in 75-80 total tries. I switched this morning to Blazing and Current/Plasma to take advantage of shorter fail times and bam a 39 hour timer in my Breeding Cave. Hope to try another Blazing/Water in my EBI soon when my Colosseum finishes. Good luck to anyone else trying. At least it will be back again in 6 months!
Congrats Andy on the Gold shrine and your first crown! If anyone visits to check out the Royal dragon please remember to refrain from taking pics and posting them. Dragons will be dragons and their privacy should be respected I am slowly finishing my shrines and waiting to take a couple dragons from 19 to 20 when we get more levels - feeling an update coming soon in early Oct or sooner.
Sorry to hear you're breeding cave got stuck with a rainbow or such. One reason I stayed way from the lighting batch...they always seem to breed rainbows when I don't want them. Try buying a new water to use....maybe the fresh virgin offering is what the dragon wizards are looking for
Work gets in the way! Had to work today and as a consequence missed out on my last two attempts to get an equinox just checked in now and it's gone from the list. Must have tried 50+ times . On a real downer with this game at the minute, that's 2 limiteds I've missed out on. Really don't know if I can be bothered to go back to the slog of 2nd Sapphire, Seasonal, Gold, Silver, Silver Olympus, Scoria or Ironwood. And in 3 days there will be another gem dragon causing me misery.
I can not wait to see what we get for fall and Halloween and the October gem that would be my birth stone. I did not have Dragonvale last year I missed the goodies. I love the holidays can not wait for the holiday stuff.
Aww man, it is gone. It seems usually BFS lets it go until the end of the day or even spill over a little into the next day before it actually dissappears. I got mine but my son didn't. We tried this morn on both the BI and BC but of course got 8 hr waits. I figured we'd have a chance to try both one more time when he got home from school. If I'd have known it was going to be gone so early I would have used some gems for him to try again. He ain't gonna be happy.
