Just got a 48 hour clock while trying to breed the Blue Fire with Fire (10) / Storm (10). 09:25am GMT was the time. Hopefully its the Moon or Sun!! Woop!!! :-D
i miss Blue Fire, Crystal, Rainbow, Sandstorm, Swamp, Sun & Moon if i would buy them, i have to spend 176 Euro = MAD
after at least 10 tries with storm + fire i got a 12h waiting time so this should become a blue fire egg i hope the randomness is ugly because it doesn't act like a game where the player has an influence to it
Congratz Congratz! I still need a BlueFire, sun and moon though. Isn't the moon dragon epic? Well it will be sice it hasn't hatched yet. I'm trying Cold+Storm right now. Want to try BlueFire+Crystal but I don't have BlueFire
Congrats...and thank your lucky stars! I have been trying non-stop and have only gotten ice, scorch, storm repeatedly. Are you at Level 20? Wondering if that has an effect...this randomness is frustrating.
I have been trying to get a rainbow for the last week now and no joke, I have done seaweed lvl 10, firefly lvl ten over 25 times to no avail. At this point I am just going to try for sandstorm and blue fire and hopefully in the process get a rainbow; and of course moon and sun now. Add me for gifts at user name plankton27
This Random breeding sucks! I am now completely fed up with back to back failures 24/7 for close to 6 weeks now..... This random rubbish has turned this from my favorite app to my most frustrating on a large scale app. No, being on level 20 does not make a scrap of difference....in fact based on my own observations, I had much better successes when I was between lvls 16-18 - where I got my first (and only) Bluey & Rainbow. Not sure if I got anything I needed at lvl 19, and definitely nothing so far at lvl 20 which I've been on for weeks. I seriously can't comprehend how ridiculous this has become to get a Sandstorm, another Bluey and Rainbow......ha, not to mention Sun/Moon. Couldn't get a bone dragon either, ended up buying one before the time ran out! If any of you Backflip Studio developers/ stafff still read this forum, I really hope you start taking those of us who have supported this app seriously, Hear our frustrations when we have been trying more than one, two three, four+ weeks to get these elusive rare dragons, and explain to me why it is that some people (non jail breakers) can get these dragons first or second go, and they are at lower levels much of the time? Whilst I am on this rant roll, I would like like to ask if there are any who have got their success by jail breaking their devices and are also currently on my friends list, please 'unfriend' me..... You can play the game anyway you see fit but I am not interested in being part of your friend request circle, you dont need my party hats NEWS UPDATE I have just finished breeding what I assumed to be another failure, didn't bother considering the timer last night, but blow me over.....it's a BLUE FIRE EGG! now I have a second Bluey on the way after all these weeks. I was trying for a Moon / Sun with a Bluey being a welcome bonus also Bred by using both lvl 10 Fire/Storm.....5th go with this pair.....but before that I had a few tries with another 'hybrid' Fire /Storm pairing....both were lvl 6. Maybe I should have checked the cave BEFORE posting my rant......but I still stand by what I have said. Thought I would bred these two again straight away....hoping for a 48 hr timer.....nope, only 3 hrs so another scorch or firefly....at least it's a short failure time
I TOTALLY agree. Either backflip should post ways to have better breeding sucess, or they should completly remove the random breeding.
@girlpower. I hear ya!!! May be its location based as well? May be firefly/seaweed combo doesn't work in Australia... I am willing to believe anything at this stage. I bred bloody firefly and seaweed almost exclusively for a week now. No luck. It would also suck if you have to breed the dragons at a particular time. I do have to work and sleep. I am not waking up at 3am local time to breed the virtual dragon. Thats the first sign of insanity right there. All that aside, I do like the game. I like rearranging my islands, etc. Trying to save up now for a volcano. Anyway, if you want to friend me just to look at my islands, my nick is DarthBobo.
When breeding sun and moon it depends on the time of day a moon is a grey egg with a half moon on it and of course they Take 48 hours to breed andthen incubate.
@ Dando Yep, I hear ya please post (ha, as if I have to ask) when you get something....unless you spit the dummy like I am getting very close to doing....the Bluey has been a long overdue saving grace at the moment.....may keep me in check for a day or two if I practice self control @ eugekava I'm in Melb. also.....haha, I also thought the same about the time thing, it had better not be based on this, otherwise we can kiss sun/moon bye bye. Surely not though.....I know of a NZ'der who was successful, they are two hrs ahead of our time......getting a headache by over analyzing it all. Regarding the rainbow.....seaweed didn't work for me either, but I was very lucky to get mine at lvl 18 (well lucky considering the crappy luck since) by using Firefly /Swamp lvls 10 / 9. First try was Swamp /Firefly (got flower) Second try I reversed them and bam, got my rainbow....was a beautiful moment I have since tried this combo many times again, along with quiet a few others that were successful for others, but no go so far. Yep, know what eggs and dragons look like...... depends on the time of day in which part of the world? You might be experiencing night time when I am on day time.....I doubt the devs would have gone this far, maybe I should email them with this query?
I find it a bit difficult to believe people are complaining about the randomness of the game. Without it, everyone would have stopped playing ages ago. This assures that people have something to shoot for and a reason to log in a few times a day to try their hand at breeding. The rare dragon is the reward for persistence and continued involvement. I'm still missing three species, the sun, sandstorm and blue fire, and it will give me a reason to keep going with the game for the next while. In addition, I've never even had the opportunity to get them all, because of the continued updates! The dev team has outdone themselves, and I hope they continue to add more regular and elite (and limited time) dragons to the game. Keep up the good work devs. Everyone else, keep breeding and good luck!
like i said before i find the randomness unfair and frustrating that gives me the impression that the only aim of the developer is to sell a lot of inapppurchases i did spend 2x1,59 Euro to this point and am not willing to spend more if i will experience the same like girlpower - i wont speed up 100 failing combos
I just got a 48 hr breeding time, right after i posted that last comment! Got it with lv 9 fire and lv 10 storm ( in that order)! Cant wait to see what it is! @girlpower Just keep trying! I know it sounds stupid after 4 weeks, but until backflip announces something, its the only advice i can give!
@ Dando Yippee! Congrats Dando, looking forward to knowing what the egg will be now Your advice is good advice and the only advice we can all give each other. At least one backflip studios person did say he feels we should have more control over what dragons we get and was passing on my feedback to the devs, so for those who feel the same way I do, hopefully the devs will do something about this......it's about time they upped the levels also, many have been stuck on lvl 20 for many weeks with nothing left to do except breed dragons we don't want or need due to not enough room to house them anyway. @ Apple-byte I am also beginning to wonder if the devs are more interested in those starting out and not so much the players who have diligently kept playing since this app was released in Sept? Many of us have been playing more than long enough to get all the dragons...... Think we need a bit more than just rare and ridiculously hard to get dragons (for probably many of us), so how about another Island and either larger or more habitats to accommodate the dragons we currently have to sell cause our habitats are already maxed out..... This is more along the incentive for me to keep playing, not to mention having brought some gems, and treats back when the addiction of playing this game was real and the challenge was there but so was the balance between successful breeding and failures along the way. We are all entitled to express our highs and lows......more balance between the two is the key to keeping me interested
Sun dragon. I have my sun dragon egg in incubation, 48:00 hours on the clock. I got it after.... 5-7 breeds of level 10 fire and level 10 storm. Then 3 breeds of the same combo but with them both being level 4. Not kidding. To level four dragons produced a sun dragon. I am level 20, I was going for the blue fire which still eludes me. I have every dragon but the moon, blue fire, sandstorm and rainbow. I have 2 volcanos but only 1 at the time, I have bought gems and 2 breeds after I bought the gems I got the sun. I have 66,000+ food. Every dragon I own is level ten. I have all the habitats. The sun dragon was gemmed while breeding but not while incubating. I breeded the sun around 8:30 AM. I quick breeded it at about 11:30 AM. Don't believe me? I am joking101 on game center, the first person to add me becomes my third person to give gems to (as I already have two friends). I am sharing this info not to get people to friend me and give me gems (but that is nice but I breeded two LEVEL FOUR AND I GOT A SUN DRAGON. Edit: Got my friend. Don't send friend requests unless you either plan on sending me a gem every now and then but don't expect more then maybe 4-7 gems over a long period of time (like a month). The other thing is if you add me on game center then send me a private message first with your username. Otherwise I won't except it.
you are joking ;-) when did you start playing DV? i started 12 days ago and i miss Bone, Crystal, Rainbow, Sandstorm, Swamp, Sun & Moon my Crystal should be breeding at the moment (12h breeding time for earth & lightning)
I still feel the game is pretty balanced, but you guys are right. You should be communicating with the devs if you're finding the game frustrating, maybe they'll make it better. Me, I'm pretty content just going after the last dragons I'm missing (sun and blue fire). The only thing I'd ask for is the ability to make a second (or multiple) breeding cave. I think this would improve the game considerably.
Blue Fire! (I think!) Finally! Got it with Level 10 Fire + Level 10 Storm with many, many failed attempts, took a break and put Sandstorm + Firefly in the cave with hopes for a rainbow (no such luck!) and then went back to Fire/Storm and got the 12 hour breeding time. So it should be Blue Fire unless it is a Cold?! But I don't think you can get a pure-bred from a hybrid can you?! It is interesting how this method of taking a break with a breeding pair and then going back has worked. It is nice to have some success...hopefully the rainbow, sun and moon are not far behind...I am not quite at Level 20. I have not spent any real $ on this game and don't intend to. I truly hope the dev's have not made purchases a prerequisite to achieving goals/difficult dragons. My kids and I enjoy playing and we'll keep trying and hopefully we will get the elusive dragons. schnizler
