I'll come over to your islands and check how the renovations are going. P.S. - unemployment=unemployment benefits. @Girlpower - sigh, you never get a break! What if you picked a pair of combos that you know works and just go with that non stop, both habitats, speeding up small fails. I am sure the wires will cross somewhere and you'll get the Gold. Looks like Olympic dragons are easy, just time consuming.
Wow! Congrats! 4 attempts so far have given me 1 Crystal (boo), 2 Lavas, and a Scorch. I'll try again in the morning.. I've used some gems too. Sandbox now says Fire is not needed for an Olympus. Aww GP sorry for your Goldie lack of luck.
You're right on the short fail 3 hrs here.. Pessimistic guess, we have 16----15 days to get those 3....
Once you reach level 7 you can purchase the breeding cave from the market. Click on the cave and it will allow you to select to have dragon's to breed. GC friends are great for trading gems. Eventually you will want to buy something for gems and having friends means you don't have to spend money unless you want to. Thanks Yashy, Eugekava and Foxy, appreciated @ Eugekava.....I have tried combos that haved worked for others, my problem is I can't decide on which combo to just stick with....gave 'em all a few goes and thought brass/fire would be best due to short fails....guess I ran out of patience after days of nothing but brass. I actually did get to taste what being on a roll' was like a little while back, must say I really enjoyed it for a change...wasnt ready to give it up either (boo hoo) Your Olympic Island has exceeded my expectations.....love what you did with those flags, so simple, yet so effective....well done mate Drats....I'm on my 5th try for an Olympic (anything) and just tried quake/air, now have a crystal cooking....GRR....long fails suck! Oh well, I've been having fun racing my dragons...all coming 1st since yesterday....had a few screen freezes (both when they race and more so the wheel spins).....I gotta say that clover' dragon is just so cheeky when it wins.....real show off on the finish line, looks like its flexing it's muscles (Ulster Meadows choice for me). Good luck with your Olympians.... Enjoyed watching the opening ceremony, hubby actually got up early and watched it live.....lazy me watched the re run this arvo....hehe
@girlpower - thanks! I tried. Got all three Olympic dragons. Used ALL my gems. Just didn't want to have it hanging over my head while I go for next gem dragon. Now trying to get the second gold Olympus dragon. Those are impressive. They have the typical minotaur appearance. I especially like the wings. They are massive so it's a bit cramped in those habitats. My favorite dragon to race is Forge. I just love the Cossack dance it does on the podium. Watched the replay of the opening ceremony. The bit with "boy meets girl story" annoyed me as it was a bit too long and unnecessary. Loved the beginning and Mr Bean with Chariots Of Fire routine.
Hello! Just wanted to say hello! I have been playing for a couple of weeks now and stalking the boards here Thought I'd say hello finally! Spent a lot of time trying to get Ruby with lots of fails and finally sent Chrome through the Fountain of youth. Had two successful rubies with Chrome & Scorch after that Went for one of the Olympic Dragons last night and got it first time with Blazing and Crystal. Was prepared for many fails, so that was nice I use Macenstein's breeding guide, which has some differences with the Sandbox. If anybody is having a hard time with breeding, try some of the combos over there Hope everyone has good luck getting the Olympic dragons! Macenstein says Blazing/Crystal and Willow/Quake for the combos

My first try with Firefly/Sandstorm = Crystal 24 ..... NOT a short fail! Wow euge! Congrats on the 3 Olympic victories!
I got a 24- fail too, i.... Crystal is ugly and quite unwelcome Lucky the firefly-lava goes for 3/8 hours fails...
Sonic/Lava both level 15. Got all 3 with those. Got silver with crystal/blazing but had many crystal fails. Now have something brewing with quake/blazing. While sonic/lava was the most productive pair I had 6 silver dragons, two bronze and one gold. Some crystals as well. Not to mention lots of shorter fails. I used a lot of gems. A LOT. On one hand I am kicking myself for using it all. On another hand, this is the kind of occasion I've been accumulating them for.
I got Gold and Bronze Olympus with Sonic/Lava and two Silvers with Blazing/Crystal. Way to go eugekava, I totally agree with you regarding the gems.

I really love the Olympic habitat...with the torch and all.. I hope hope hope the torch does not extinguish at the end of the games . It would be sad to wait 2yrs before seeing it lit again....
I got 2 Crystal fails while using Sonic/Lava and Crystal with something else if that helps lol! This was before I saw the update on not needing the fire element either. Grrr!!! Congrats Eugekeva on those 3 Olympic dragons!
Random Breeding? So I decided to spend $4.99 on gems when the Olympus dragons arrived. I bred sonic/lava and then crystal/blazing x 2 all on the EBI. Got 3 35 hour timers in a row and got each of the Olympus dragons. Seriously wonder if your "luck" improves as you spend $$$ on gems. For all the good luck with the Olympus dragons, I still have yet to get a gold after about seventy fails. Tried every combo suggested at least five times! Gone back to chrome/scorch as I wouldn't mind another ruby or rainbow.
Thanks Foxtail! After my first luck with Crystal and Blazing (which are still breeding, so no clue as to which Olympic I am getting) I have a dud with Williw and Quake too.... 14 hour tree fail Oh well, at least we still have time!
Still no ruby!!!! Hi... I am back and just read about 20 pages I missed. I actually didn't go anywhere just busy with my kids and my husband recouping from hernia operation last week. My apologies to my forum friends as I have missed birthdays and get well wishes for puppy dogs...and I haven't visited anyone's islands either. AND IT IS MY DAUGHTERS BIrTHDAY and WE WANT A RUBY !!! I have been breeding chrome & scorch in both caves many times a day for the past 28 days. What gives? Ok I got 3 Goldie's as fails so I can't complain about that but I have fallen behind and I am missing so many dragons because I am so focused on ruby. I feel better now that I have vented. I just wanted to add that the racetrack has helped me breeze through level 34 in only a few days. Coming in first and getting XP is awesome!!! Just a smidge to go and I will be at lvl 35. It is great cause my girl loves the races and it gives her something to do when they are in the love caves and all coins have been collected. Time for bed. Birthday celebrations in the morning!
