Haha Why would u call yourself a noob? Did you purchase dragons and not breed them? did you hack the game? Because if you earned everything you have how could you be a noob? There is a big difference between earning what you have and not earning it. I know people with over 100 islands and only rainbows on them, crazy hackers... that's not right. Anyone who earned their park value and persevered over their frustrations is a dragon lord!
No, no hacking/cheating...that takes all the fun from the game. I have been fortunate enough to have some luck with breeding mostly because of the insight and experience from others and their willingness to post tips. I have however used gems to speed up breeding so I can try again, although I wouldn't object to purchasing a dragon if I was continually unsuccessful after a long period of time. My thought referred to the hatchery and placing a newly hatched egg in the hibernation cave to receive the points. I did not realize that it was possible until you posted it. I am a fairly "new player" in comparison to most of you, and often I rely on postings from others. I enjoy our friends on the forum, and look forward to celebrating everyone's accomplishments and talking about our frustrations.
I agree with you. I love this forum And being able to share with other dragonvale friends. I have purchased dragons I just could not get. I purchased the panlong and one frostfire. I have not got much patience so I get tired of trying And I buy. I hope this game and the forum are around for along time. I love this forum and the game.

Thanks for the tips and the gems Well, I am only level 21, and so far I have not spent any $real$ money on this game, and I haven't used gems to buy eggs or speed up anything. But I'm doing okay and enjoying myself. I have one Rainbow and one Sun so far. I do not have the Epic Breeding Island yet, but I have 121 gems now, and probably tomorrow I will be able to buy it, thanks to all my generous gem-trading "friends" in GC. My give-back list goes back to Feb. 14, and I am very careful about writing down all the names. I have been trying for a month to breed a Bluefire or a Sandstorm -- no luck. Also tried many times for a Panlong, and no luck there either. But I got the Rainbow and the Sun just by following the tips on this forum -- so thanks to everyone for all your advice! I just wanted to offer some encouragement to anyone who is having trouble getting the dragons they want. I had to try many times to get the Rainbow and the Sun, but eventually I got them! Also, I think being careful about trading gems has helped me a lot. I was able to buy two egg stands in the Nursery and the Dragonsai Gem Tree because of the gems people gave me, and the same people keep coming back and giving me more gems. So keep track of your gem debts and pay them back, and you'll be able to get stuff like the Epic Breeding Island. P.S. I don't need any more GC friends because I already have too many!
Good job macloo!!! Glad to see and hear that it pays off to be stubborn. *hehe* Oh, oh, OH!!! I just NEEED to tell! I think you're the people who'll understand. I reached lvl 30 today! Gosh! But it is somewhat unsatisfactory, since it really doexn't give you anything. But an extra habitat and another island to buy. For 100.000.000 *panic* It has helped to be able to put newly borns in the hibernation cave, to hoard points and selling off when in need of money. Now i'm REALLY in need of money, so hoarding it is. And chasing after those gold statues, that's a sweaty job if you ask me. *pheeeew* So, I just wanted you to know. I finally reached it. Lvl 30. And now I'm continuing on my quest for that ¤%//¤%# Frostfire. My second one, but anyways... and that new Leap Year Dragon? I think it will give me a headache before I've even tried for it. I'm curious, want to know which habitat to put it in. We'll probably have to rearrange everything and if girlpower and MaLiesa get's their way, we will have to make room for a easter edition as well. Wow, Yasha! That truely is a milestone & something to be proud of! Your second Frosty will come-don't give up hope. Just keep pairing the known combos: cold/scorch, blazing/cold, cold/bone. It may take many many tries. Some of us have had better luck with "fresh" dragons or leveling up ones you've tried already. Good luck! Wow, the cost of that new island is steep, especially when trying for gold statues! The food costs are killing me. I wish I had stockpiled food when I didn't need to..... Take heed anyone at the lower levels. I can't stress enough, the amount of food needed as the game progresses! I've read on other forums, that the Leap Year dragon's habitat is rainbow. Gems are part of the game: you can get tons of them for free, over time, via trades with friends. And there is absolutely NO shame in using them to buy eggs from the market, if you feel like it. It doesn't make you a worse player, or a "noob." If anything, it makes less sense to let them pile up forever, and do nothing with them. It's not as if you get any bonuses for having the most gems.... I always keep some stockpiled, just in case some new content comes out that requires a lot of gems, but I also use them when I don't feel like waiting for breeding, or for a new habitat to build. And I would use them to buy an egg, as well, if I felt like it. That is, after all, what they're for.
Grats on 30 XD! All my sources indicate that it will use the rainbow habitat, that is, if it even exists.
@Atilla Hopefully it is the dragon you are waiting for! My daughter just got a second sun with Crystal + Frostfire which got me (and others) a rainbow...so this game continues to baffle me. Nothing is for sure!

( tend to keep notes on hard to get dragons to refer back to) LOL after 17 tries, I still didn't have my moon, so switched to Storm/Sonic....bingo Re: SANDSTORM....that took months for me....thanks to a caring poster who took the time to post her suggestion....I then got it first time!! Still shocked at this. AIR (lvl 10) / MUD (lvl 4, brand new Mud used) Hope this may be of some help for you @ Yasha....WHOO HOO Well done faithful, diligent one....another huge accomplishment, be proud deservedly so....brilliant news! EEK, that last Island is a costly one for sure....hmm gotta hoard cash and gems too now, not so easy when needing to grow food treats at the same time....come on second rainbow!! (more pan breeding needed me thinks) Maybe BS can offer up a coin tree in the next update...there's an idea, we could gift coins and gems to our GC friends....Hmm I like that idea, though still collect party hats too...haha, guess you will upping the Island visiting then....takes me ages to do this...load times take soo long don't they? Finally breed a Rainbow this morning.......Wow wow Eeeeeeee I have tried everything on the web and combination. I have every dragon except prior to this morning a rainbow. I have bought gems however only to speed up stuff never to buy dragons. I have tried Blue Fire on Left and Crystal on right many many times well it worked in epic this morning I put them in there probably 9pm CST last night and this morning knew I had either a Sun, Moon or Rainbow....Bought a couple hundred gems and OMG rainbow egg I about spilled my coffee lol..Oh I have bought gems to buy things like new time machine and aesthetic stuff however I have grinded the breeding out truly....And no way would I have spent or bought 2500 gems Ouchieeee.... I am level 23 almost 24 dragons level 10 both blue fire left/crystal right epic breeding island Also had same combo in normal breeding cave I got lucky or something was about to hang it up anyway....The big man was watching out for me.... Anyway it can be done the other hardest one for me was Panalong but no where like Rainbow.... I hope everyone trying tonight gets a Rainbow Kindest Regards, Tooperfect(Gamecenter ID)

Congrats on your rainbow success Wow, sounds like you have brought a few gems during your DV days...... it's irrelevant as to what we spend them on and certainly doesn't need to be justified one way or the other, actually it's no one else's business even and does not make anyone less of a player either way....I have heard of someone actually buying enough gems to get the rainbow....again, not something I personally would do but each to their own, what's right for one doesn't need to be right for another....if we all played the same game, how boring that would be Those that use cheats to get ahead though...well that's a whole different story! Enjoy your rainbow, mine is still real special to me and I will keep trying for my second ....just got another pan (failed rainbow breed) great bonus as I didn't have to tie up two pans for 36 hrs which would mean no income from them both ....Bluefire/crystal has given me more crystals than I care to count, have another one in nursery right now....but a while ago it did produce a sun
Thanks so much Hey Girlpower it was so fun to see my 8 yr old that plays this when I showed her this morning it was quite special and I sure do like the way that dragon looks. Really appreciate your kind words and if I had read prior posts I would have left all the buying stuff out lol...Gosh if I had the change I would have had one Christmas eve lol......or ok I would have waited until Christmas Day...Awesome on the Pan that is cool to get again. @ Tooperfect.....thank you for that....LOL, bit of a touchy subject around here of late....but moving forward....how lovely to be able to share the rainbow with your little daughter....I bet she loves the colours, it's a beauty isn't it Do you have the dragonsai tree yet? So funny, but when I first decided to get mine, it was really so I could speed up my IOU gem gifts....well that did work for the first two days...but then the magic of the sowing/reaping or giving/receiving law kicked in......well today, I owe more gems back then I did before! Haha, not complaining....these awesome GC friends are such a giving lot...it's their generosity of spirit that allowed me to get the impossible (for me to get) Frostfire....no regrets in doing so and for me it was worth parting with 100 gems....haha, was also worried I would end up bald with all the hair pulling frustration (joke, sort of). So what are you trying for next....we will all try and help with any suggestions if you need any help....although it sounds like you are doing really well considering the level you are at and all your dragons now....gotta be very happy with that Welcome to the forum by the way
