Well, there is probably somebody purchasing that $99.99 "Trunk of Gems", since it is an option on the Market and whenever I think to look at the "Top Grossing" apps list, DragonVale is at the top. As well as the $49.99 ones for treats and gold.

I dunno, seems like Backflip would be able to easily monitor and catch any one cheating rather than purchasing.

    Geez...

Well, its been an exciting day at my park.... First, STILL hoping for that frosty, i bred storm/fire in my ebc.....and got a 48 hr breeding time.

This is the first time i exhaled in frustration because i got and 48 hr....

Then, moving on to my normal cave, I bred love and ice, again for frosty and.............got ANOTHER 48 hr!!!!!!!!!

This game drives me CRAZY! I have no successes for WEEKS, then get two UNWANTED 48 hrs within TWO MINUTES OF EACH OTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Considering it takes 327,660 treats to level a dragon to level 15. To get a gold statue you need 50x 327,660 = 16383000 for one gold statue

To level a dragon to level 20 after you have a gold statue is 10,485,740 treats

So to get 1 gold statue and level a dragon from 15 to 20 = 26841080 treats

Cost of trunk of treats is $51.99 for 3,038,000

To get the required treats is 8.73 of the trunk = $454

$454 for the gold statue and only 1 dragon at level 20

I logged onto a user on this forums dragonvale city (who became level 30 the day the additional levels came out) and additionally on the same day that the Panlongs came out, had 20 of them all with gold crowns.

if it takes 26513420 to get a dragon from 15 to 20 and you time that by 20 and then divide by a trunk of treats (3,038,000) then times that number by the cost ($51.99) = $9000

You tell me if they are cheating?

    Hey Dando,
Agree, it's a crazy ride with DV alrighty!
Fingers crossed you may get a second rainbow at least?
I have been trying for my second for weeks myself, can't even get a 48 hr timer,
    itsnt it ironic (sigh)
Regarding that Frosty, well I dont regret hoarding my gems to get it (was either
    that or walk away).
It wouldnt be just because I couldn't get Frosty after continually trying, more a case of too many hard to gets in a row...guess we all need to know where our own cut off point is and an knew I had reached mine.

Will never understand how some can get all their rares (even double ups) and
even Frostys after a few tries, yet others really have to work soooo hard for them (mentally not physically of course)

Just hope it helps that you could come here and share, you know its often after having a mini rant, your luck turns around...let's hope so :)

Post what you end up with please, fingers crossed for a rainbow or two?

So excited about the new update! I'm very fond of the new fountain of youth. This will allow us to reduce the levels of existing dragons for breeding! On a side note I reached level 30 yesterday and was able to purchase my sixth island! I was hoping it would enable some additional habitats but it didn't. With the update it makes me curious as to when there will be a new dragon released. Happy breeding to you all! MaLiesa

Check out this web page, it says there is a new leap year dragon! May be another fabricated dragon, but it did intrigue me. http://dragonvale.net/dragonvale-leap-year-dragon/

    Hey MaLiesa :)
Just wanted to send huge congrats for reaching lvl 30, well done, that is real dedication and such an achievement.
What a shame there's no more habitats right now, we never seem to have enough of these, very thankful for the hibernation cave, mines full of failed breeds ;)

At least I have some to fall back on now if au want newbies to breed from.
I also want to know more about the new FOY. I have built it but haven't used it yet, feeling a bit the same as Eugekava and also taking a wait and see approach.

    Leap Year Dragon
Posted by Dragonvale Blog on February 22, 2012 10
Introducing the most recent dragon in the dragonvale family and it is non other than the dragonvale leap year dragon. Indeed, many dragonvale players have not yet heard of this dragon but in reality, it is the next new dragon to make you want to continue playing dragonvale.
Here at dragonvale.net, we are proud to tell give you news on the leap year dragon even before the dragon is officially released. The leap year dragon will be released in the next couple of days and will be similar to the rainbow dragon. Why is the dragonvale leap year dragon being released this year? It is because like the dragonvale love dragon, the leap year dragon is an event dragon and since this year is a leap year, we will be having a dragon that you will have only once in every four years. Four years is a long time and therefore, you better be prepared to use all means possible to get the leap year dragon when it officially hits the dragonvale gaming platform.
Here are some facts you need to know about the leap year dragon for dragonvale:
    1. Dragonvale Leap Year Dragon Egg
The leap year dragon has one of the most beautiful dragonvale egg you will ever meet. The egg for the leap year dragon is hard to mistake for that of another dragonvale dragon. This is because the egg is completely golden in color as shown in the picture below:
    2. How does the dragonvale leap year dragon look like?
The question that many dragonvale fans are asking is how does this new dragon look like. As ussuall, this will be a rare dragon that will be challenging to breed just like the other dragonvale rare dragons. The leap year dragon is however similar to the rainbow dragon in many ways though it has a dark yellow color. An adult leap year dragon is breath taking and this gives you the more reason to do everything possible to get one in your breeding island before they are gone.
Do you want to know more about breeding the leap year dragon, leap year dragon habitats, breeding combination and much more? If you do, then, check with us in a few days time and we shall have all the information for you. Also, don’t forget to read our reviews on dragonvale for better information on the dragonvale game play. Should you know something that we don’t know, feel free to post it here.

Oh how cool to see it breath mini Guiness mugs that maybe dissolved into
    froth (to represent beer froth).

Maybe an Easter dragon could breath mini Easter eggs too and we could all go
on an Easter egg hunt...just an idea but how to incorporate it....hmm leave that
    up to BS.

Congrats on your second Pan, AJ ;)

Thanks girl power, I think you will like the FOY, It's very cute! More importantly you get to keep your level for the dragon, but are able to reduce the age. This could be a huge plus for breeding when your looking to try a lower level dragon. Perhaps your failed breeds will come in handy later down the road, it seems like as the game changes, the things that used to be important are no longer as important to you later like trying to level up to level 10 and then there are successful rare breedings with the lower levels. All of the best to you my friend, hopefully the new leap year dragon will leap right into your breeding cave lol.

There are no points. Once the 12hr expired there was an icon above the FOY. I pressed it and little fire dragon was back at the habitat. I am level 30 though so I don't get exp points for some things (gold medals, etc).

My only disappointment is that it looks like a rainbow dragon with a different colour palette. It really bugs me that BS recycle existing dragons.

Eugekava, I agree! I wish they wouldn't recycle the dragons. I really liked the love dragon, mostly because it was something new and nice to look at.
